EPCOT DAY 1: FIRST SUNDAY AGENDA

Check in, get settled if your room is ready, and be at Epcot as soon as you can.

FIRST THINGS

(Note: this is from the FastPass+ Basic December Seven Night Itinerary, Sunday Arrival variant. The itinerary works only for the three weeks after Thanksgiving. For itineraries for other dates, see this.)

• Arrive at your hotel, following the instructions in your Disney’s Magical Express packet if you are using it to get from Orlando International to your Disney Resort. Check in
• Unless you are arriving late, your room will likely not be ready, but you can leave your bags. First change into clothes more appropriate for the weather–which your To-Do List reminded you to pack in your carry-ons. You can ask to be called or texted later to find out your exact room
• If your room is ready, and if you have time–you want to be at Epcot as soon as you can–get food and supplies (bowls, napkins, scotch) for your breakfast in the morning, which you will be eating out of your room. Also get (from the counter service restaurant)  “Refillable Mugs,” which you will be able to re-use at your resort for free drinks over your entire stay
• Head to Epcot as soon as you can

AT THE PARK

• Your plan today is to see as many of Epcot’s attractions as you can to free time on your second visit, see the parts of World Showcase that are most fun in the evening, and see the lovely Christmas decorations at the nearby Epcot resorts–while exiting the park before the end of Illuminations, the park-closing show that you will see on Thursday night. You should also have FastPass+ for Soarin’, Spaceship Earth and a third. Those arriving late may have to thin the below to just Soarin’, World Showcase, and the Epcot resorts
• Go through the turnstiles and pick up a park map and “Times Guide”–a schedule. Use your Spaceship Earth FastPass+ and then see Turtle Talk with Crush, Living with the Land and Soarin (FP+)
• Then sample Innoventions to get a sense of how much time you might want to devote to it Thursday.
• Head to World Showcase, and see the pavilions starting with Mexico and going clockwise.
  • Each pavilion will have some or all of Christmas displays and storytellers as part of Epcot’s Holidays Around the World celebration, shopping, special exhibits, a ride, a movie, and other special events—such as acrobats in China.
  • Check your map, times guide, and the pavilion itself, to see what each pavilion has.
  • For scheduled events like the acrobats, etc., sequence what you do when among items that are not scheduled (shops, exhibits, and rides), and bounce back and forth between nearby pavilions, so that you don’t have to wait long for the scheduled item
• Have dinner
• Continue touring World Showcase clockwise until about 8:30p
• Leave Epcot via the International Gateway exit between France and the UK and walk around Crescent Lake, visiting the lobbies and Christmas decorations at the Beach Club, Yacht Club, and BoardWalk Inn
• Be back in Epcot by 9.30p, and instead of staying for Illuminations–which will have started about now, and which you will see on Thursday–return to the exit by Spaceship Earth and head back to your hotel–thus beating the post-Illuminations crowds.

BACK AT THE HOTEL

Buy food, supplies (bowls, spoons, etc.) and refillable mugs for breakfast in your room at your hotel counter service or gift shop, if you did not have time, or a room assignment, earlier.

MAGIC KINGDOM DAY 3: SECOND SATURDAY AGENDA

Today you will complete your visit to the Magic Kingdom, with options for your FastPass+.

You should have seen all the major rides in the Magic Kingdom by now, so your FastPass+ are for re-rides.

FIRST THINGS

• Check out and note your instructions for Disney’s Magical Express if you are using it.  If you aren’t, for many domestic airlines you’ll be able to check bags and print boarding passes near the front desk.  This is a tip-based service.  You can also store your bags at the bell stand
• Arrive at the Magic Kingdom by 45 minutes before open

AT THE PARK

• See any ride you wish to re-ride but don’t have a FastPass+ for
• See your first FastPass+ ride, and re-ride nearby rides
• See your second FastPass+ ride, and re-ride nearby rides
• See your third FastPass+ ride, and re-ride–well, you get it!
• Return home

MAGIC KINGDOM DAY 2: FRIDAY AGENDA

Today you will continue your visit to the Magic Kingdom. You’ll finish Fantasyland and see Liberty Square.

You should have FastPass+ for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Enchanted Tales with Belle, and Peter Pan. As soon as you have finished your FastPass+ for the Mine Train, try to get a fourth FastPass+ for the Haunted Mansion. The other fixed points in your schedule are the 3p parade and your reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table and Chef Mickey’s.

FIRST THINGS

Be at the park by 15 minutes before your Cinderella reservation–earlier if possible.

AT THE PARK

• Dine at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the castle.
• See Peter Pan (FP+)
• See it’s a small world,  the Carrousel, and Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid around your FastPass+ for Enchanted Tales with Belle
• See the afternoon Festival of Fantasy Parade
• See for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (FP+). As soon as you are off the Mine Train, go to a kiosk to try to book a fourth FastPass+ for the Haunted Mansion
• See Dumbo
• See the Barnstormer if it looks like fun and lines aren’t too long
• Take the WDW Railroad from the Fantasyland Station to the Frontierland Station. Walk from there to Liberty Square
• See the Hall of Presidents
• See the Haunted Mansion (perhaps with FastPass+)
• See Liberty Belle Riverboat (if time is getting tight, you can defer any of these to tomorrow morning)
• Walk or take the resort monorail to the Contemporary Resort
• Have dinner at Chef Mickey’s–while there, re-book your FastPass+ for tomorrow morning to the three rides you most want to revisit
• Via the resort monorail, stop at the Polynesian, then the Grand Floridian, to see their Christmas decorations
• Continue on the resort monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Find the Wilderness Lodge boat at the front, and take it to the Lodge.  See its Christmas decorations. Return by boat to the Magic Kingdom
• Head back to your hotel

Tomorrow you finish your visit to the Magic Kingdom and head home.

EPCOT DAY 2: THURSDAY AGENDA

Today you will complete Epcot.

Assuming you saw Soarin, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Turtle Talk with Crush, and some of World Showcase on Saturday, you can arrive late today–around 11a.

If you missed these, or wish to spend extra time in Innoventions or World Showcase, you need to arrive before park open, and starting with Soarin right at open see them, then shift to the material that begins at 11a.

For today you should have FastPass+ for Test Track, Mission: Space, and a third ride. You have several other scheduled events–dinner as the Candlelight Processional Package at San Angel Inn at around 5.45p, the Candlelight Processional itself at 8.15p, and Illuminations at 9.30p

AT THE PARK: MORNING

• See anything you missed Saturday
• Have lunch
• See Mission: Space (FP+)
• See Ellen’s Energy Adventure
• See Test Track (FP+)
• Go into Innoventions East and check out The Sum of All Thrills.  If it looks like fun, and waits aren’t too bad, ride it. See more of Innoventions East and West if you wish
• See the Seas with Nemo and Friends
• See Circle of Life
• See Journey Into Imagination with Figment
• See Captain EO
• Continue the visit to World Showcase you began on Saturday
• Have dinner at San Angel Inn
• Visit more of World Showcase
• See the Candlelight Processional in front of the American Adventure
• Make your way to the special seating area for Illuminations that’s part of your Candlelight Processional Package, seeing more of World Showcase on the way, hitting if needed the bathrooms before you enter the Illuminations area–as you want to beat the crowds heading out, and you want nothing to slow you down!
• Watch Illuminations, and if you are parked, taking the monorail, or taking a bus back to your hotel, immediately at its end start walking briskly to the park exit (on the far side of Spaceship Earth) to beat the crowds.
• Return to your hotel

Tomorrow you have the early morning off, and then continue your visit to the Magic Kingdom.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS DAY 2: WEDNESDAY AGENDA

Today you have the morning off. You will then return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios by noon to complete the visit you began Monday.  You have no reserved dining today.

You should have FastPass+ for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON

• Sleep in and have an early lunch at the hotel
• Arrive at Hollywood Studios by noon

AT THE PARK

• Check the Times Guide to plan when to see Beauty and the Beast (preferably the last show of the day)
• See  Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream
• See Voyage of the Little Mermaid (FP+)
• See Disney Jr Live on Stage
• See the Magic of Disney Imagination
• Fit Beauty and the Beast in among your FastPass+ for Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
• Get in line for Fantasmic about 30-45 minutes before the show–have dinner before or after, depending on how your timing is going
• See Fantasmic
• Most lines will be short after Fantasmic–if you wish, this will be a good time for re-rides. Try for more FastPass+, or simply check standby lines
• Head back to your hotel when you are ready

MAGIC KINGDOM DAY 1: TUESDAY AGENDA

Today you have the morning off and then begin your visit to the Magic Kingdom, starting on a regular ticket and then shifting to the specially ticketed Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (“MVMCP”).

Over the course of the afternoon and evening, you’ll complete Tomorrowland, see much of Adventureland and Frontierland, and begin your visit to Fantasyland.

You should have FastPass+ for Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Jungle Cruise. You have no scheduled dining, but many fixed events in the late evening as part of MVMCP.

• Head to Tomorrowland and see the lower-wait rides here–the Carousel of Progress, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Stitch’s Great Escape, and the Tomorrowland PeopleMover
• Have dinner and then get your MVMCP wristbands. Note that at MVMCP, you’ll be skipping the first parade, and watching the second one instead
• See Space Mountain
• See Buzz Lightyear
• See Astro Orbiter
• See Tomorrowland Speedway
• See Winnie the Pooh
• See Mickey’s Philharmagic
• See the 9.15p Castle Show
• See the 9.30p Holiday Wishes
• See the 10.05p “Celebrate the Seasons” show
• See the second Christmas Parade at 10.30p
• Return to Adventureland and see Pirates of the Caribbean and Magic Carpets of Aladdin
• You are now done–but if you have the energy and time, waits should be very low now, so re-ride a favorite
