Your guides are proving to be an immense help! I haven’t been to Disney World in 25 years and my husband has never been. We’re buying annual passes since we live a short drive from the parks. We aren’t extremely concerned with eating at all of the best places and we’ll be staying somewhere off site so we can spend that money on other things like souvenirs etc. Is there a locals guide to Disney Parks? Our initial trip is going to be 5 nights/ 6 days M-Sat. What time should we plan on arriving at the parking lot to get a good morning jump on crowds? I’ve never parked, I’ve always stayed on site and used the monorail. Is a 15 minute drive from the parks reasonable or average? We’ve decided to do this kind of last minute (20 days to plan) Can non resort guests use the monorail to hop from park to park? Thank you again for this entire guide series, it’s awesome!

Hi Christine, you want to be at the turnstiles about 45 minutes before open. Arrive at the lots 15 minutes before then except at MK, when you need to be there 25 minutes before (because you can walk from the other lots, but at MK you need to take the ferry or monorail).

I don’t have anything for locals on this site, but you can adapt the one and two day itineraries on Chapter 6 of my book.
