A couple of 2011 Disney World deals are scheduled to expire soon.
One Disney deal gives reduced resort hotel room rates, and another Disney promotion yields free theme park tickets for kids.
These deals cover 2011 stays from April 28 through June 14, and August 14 through October 1.
They need to be booked by March 27th, which is coming up soon!!
Great site. Question for Jan 2015. It is hard to believe there is no resort pricing, is this normal for it to be this late? I would like a pkg. @poly, but I can find nothing. Standard??

Cathy, they will come out July 30. The last two years it was around July 10 or so; the couple of years before then it was August…

Hello Dave, we are from The Netherlands and we are going to Disney World from 26 april 2014 to 10 may 2014 is there any chance of getting any sort of discount? ore can we stop hoping and just book a hotel.
Yhank you for your trouble
Reply
Jos, I do think there will be a discount for then, and whether or not you book now won’t matter, as you’d still have to be eligible for and re-book into the discount…

We have a room booked for the week of March 9th. Do you ever see specials run in March?
Reply
Hi Amy–March discounts are common, but often have blocked dates, with the timing of Easter, and of Easter-related spring breaks, being the issue. There is a pin code offer out that includes March, but excludes your dates–so my guess is that your dates won’t be in any deals coming out. See this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2013/07/17/disney-world-room-rate-deal-for-2014/ Sorry baout that…

Dave, I have 3 rooms booked at the Poly for week of Dec. 8, 2013. Do you see any chance of getting a dinning or h0tel discount for that week? It sure would be nice. Thank you for your time.

Bea, a room rate discount is possible. I very much doubt free dining…

Hi Dave, coming from Australia to WDWfirst 2 weeks Dec 2013. Struggling with family of 5 (2Ad 3K 6,11,14) in 1 room. Looking at offsite accom for reasonable rates (Buenas Vista Suites) but worried about assessability/frequency of buses., Is it worth spending the extra on WDW accom and have quicker more frequent transport access?Don’t think can afford car! A

Hi Amanda! It is hard to fit a family of 5 into a WDW hotel at a reasonable price. Your best bet is an Alligator Bayou room at Riverside–see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2012/11/19/review-port-orleans-riverside-alligator-bayou-rooms/
As you note, transport is often an issue with the offsite hotels. Not only can it be infrequent, but also it often doesn’t start early enough for you to be at the turnstiles before the park opens–the key to a lower-wait day…

Dave,
Looking for odds of a dining / room discount the last week in January of ’14 (1/24 – 1/31). Seems this may be the most reasonable time period for us and the little ones, though I’m slightly concerned because I saw that there may be ride closures during this period.
Reply
Hi Kevin, I’d say the odds of a room discount are good, of a dining deal quite low. And yes, a small number of ride closures are typical at that time of year–see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/05/12/winter-ride-closures-at-walt-disney-world/

Also, I got what I think is a pretty great price from Twilight Travel. Pros and cons of using a travel agent?

Melony, see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/06/14/travel-agents-for-walt-disney-world/

I heard you can book your stay and if a discount comes up later, you can get the discounted price. How does that work? We are looking to go in October, and are hopeful a free dining plan or resort discount pops up. Thoughts?
Reply
Melony, if a deal comes out and your hotel and dates are eligible, you can call Disney and book or re-book into it!

My husband & I hope to bring our 2 daughters back to WDW in Jan 2014 for a week with their husbands & 2 sons 2 1/2 & 5. Things are a little different this time, I have MS thus no summer trips & concerened about location. Also, this is our gift and we need to make it as reasonable as possible. ANY advise would be greatly appreciated. Nana & Papa

Hi Bea, there’s no hotels with great convenience that are also “reasonable”. Your best bet will likely be some combination of family suites and standard rooms, all in “preferred” buildings–which will make the walks shorter–at All-Star Music. If you don’t already have one, you’ll also want to look into renting a scooter for the duration.
There’s more on the Music Family Suites here: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2012/09/05/review-the-family-suites-disneys-all-star-music-resort/ and on the standard rooms here: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/07/27/review-disneys-all-star-music-resort/
(Among the family suites, I’m recommitting Music rather than Art of Animation because you can find both standard rooms and family suite in preferred buildings at Music, whereas at AofA the preferred buildings have only family suites.)

Hi Debbie, Disney is cutting back on discounts, but I think there’s a solid chance for a room deal!

Planning on taking grandson first week of June. How do I know what’s a deal and what isn’t? Seems like there’s a blitz in the media encouraging visits to WDW currently.

Hi Debbie! For general hints on budgets and paying less (and more), see this page: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2009/12/16/planning-your-walt-disney-world-budget/ For the only current Disney deals for those dates, see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2013/01/03/new-walt-disney-world-discount-mid-february-through-mid-june-2013/

Hi Dave, planning a trip for October 2013. Is is better for me to wait until mid July or so to book hoping they offer the free dining plan? And do you recommend waiting that long?
Thanks Dina

I’m looking to book a trip in January 2013 (14th-25th). I’m hesitating on booking now because I’m waiting for hopefully a good deal. Any idea on when they’ll be released? I know the free meal plan deal is expiring today (September 29th). Is that any indicator that one may come out for 2013 soon? Last year it was out in August.. I’m getting a little nervous.

Hey Ashley,it looks like instead of a new deal they’ve just extended the “book by” date for the old room rate deal for Nov and Jan–see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2012/09/27/one-half-disney-world-deals-expiring-soon/ So it may be a while before the Jan deals–if any–come out…
