Magic Kingdom Day 2 Disney World Lower Crowd Itinerary
By Dave Shute
MAGIC KINGDOM DAY 2: THURSDAY AGENDA
Today you will continue your visit to the Magic Kingdom. You’ll see Fantasyland and Liberty Square.
You should have FastPass+ for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Enchanted Tales with Belle, and the Haunted Mansion. Other fixed points in your schedule: you have lunch reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table and want to see the afternoon parade at 3p. (The parade is at 2p between August 19, and December 21, 2018.)
(Note: this is from the Disney World Lower Crowd Itinerary.)
FIRST THINGS
Be at the park by 45 minutes before open.
AT THE PARK
- Enter the turnstiles when the park opens, grab a map and Times Schedule, and head to Peter Pan. Ride it
- See it’s a small world, the Carrousel if you wish, Mickey’s Philharmagic, and Winnie the Pooh while you are in the area (if waits for Pooh are long, try for a fourth FastPass+ for it later in the day)
- If you missed the Tomorrowland Speedway or Astro Orbiters in Tomorrowland Tuesday, and they are important to you, see now before lines build
- See Dumbo
- See the Barnstormer if it looks like fun and lines aren’t too long
- See the Mad Tea Party
- Fit together Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, your FastPass+ for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and your lunch at Cinderella’s Royal Table
- For visits before 8/18 or after 12/21/18, see Enchanted Tales with Belle (FP+) and then the 3p parade by grabbing a spot around 2.30 between the Castle and Liberty Square
- For visits between 8/18 and 12/21, see the 2p parade by grabbing a spot around 1.30 between the Castle and Liberty Square, and then see Enchanted Tales with Belle (FP+)
- Fit the Hall of Presidents and Liberty Belle Riverboat around your FastPass+ for the Haunted Mansion.
- If you missed it Tuesday, see Tom Sawyer Island
- Have dinner at the park or in your hotel (counter service)

Hi Dave,
Thank you for the info. We are planning to arrive on a Thursday afternoon (Oct. 2018) to Disney World for 9 nights- how would you recommend shifting the schedule? Keep the starting activity as dinner at EPCOT the first night, or keep Thursday as a day to visit Magic Kingdom? Then to AK on Friday…or EPCOT? Thank you.
Hi Marianne, the short version is that the itineraries on this site don’t really adapt to different arrival days, as they are based on actual crowd patterns (e.g. Monday means MOnday, not Day 3) and based on a recommended sequence of seeing the parks (basically Epcot first and MK last.)
The best alternative is to adapt the one and two day touring plans in my book to your actual best days in the parks. I will be able to help you pick which days for which parks, but only after Disney’s calendar for then is out, which won’t happen for a bit–it’s out into late August right now.
Hello, My family and I are coming to Disney World on November 8. We only have Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There are 8 adults,2 teenagers, and 3 children, total 13.
We would like the best itinerary. We would like to do the Christmas Parade probably on November 8.
Thanks for your input.
Kathleen
Hi Kathleen, by “Christmas Parade” do you mean the extra-cost Christmas Party?
Take a look at this to see what parks you want to spend time in.
Thursday avoid Epcot
Friday avoid Epcot, and avoid MK unless you are eligible for and able to arrive in time for the morning Extra Magic Hours
Saturday avoid all but HS
