My friend Steve at militarydisneytips.com tracks and posts on all kinds of stuff useful to military families considering a Disney trip.  I asked him to summarize the current state of Shades of Green discounts, and here he goes!

NEW ROOM AND TICKET 2011 OFFERS FROM WALT DISNEY WORLD

Walt Disney World has announced a couple of new discount deals to go along with the already announced spring discounted room rates.

They cover periods through October 1, 2011, but exclude the Easter weeks, and mid-June to mid-August.

One is really two deals in one–it provides room rate discounts at two different levels for periods in late spring, and in early and late summer.

The second is an offer for free tickets for kids between the ages of 3 and 9.

ACT FAST FOR THE BEST DEAL…

One of the current Walt Disney World offers has a discount off of room rates.

It is, however, a moving target–you get five percentage points more of discount if you book by 12/31 than if you book after.

So if you want the full value of this discount, book it soon!

SAVE 30% ON COUNTER SERVICE MEALS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

If you will be at Walt Disney World between December 19th 201 and January 1st 2011, you can save 30% on counter service meals.

To get these savings, get coupons from the Disney Parks blog– see this for how–and dine before noon or between 3 and 4.30p.

Note that not all counter service establishment are participating—see the link for which are.

The Disney park blog also notes that coupons will be available at Walt Disney World in the Times Guides and at the bottom of certain receipts.

ADDED DATES FOR DISNEY WORLD ROOM-RATE DISCOUNT

Walt Disney World currently has three general public discounts running, one for spring room rate discounts, covered here, one for room rate discounts later in the year, and one for free tickets for kids.

GETTING A WALT DISNEY WORLD DISCOUNT DURING THE CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR’S PERIOD

The stretch of time around the Christmas and New Year’s holidays is by far the most expensive period to be at Walt Disney World.

Resort prices are higher than they are at any other period in the year, and these days are blocked out from Disney’s deals and discounts.
