Disney World Lower Crowd Itinerary, Seven Night Saturday Arrival Variant
By Dave Shute
Below is a seven-night, Saturday arrival variant of my FastPass+ based Disney World itinerary for lower crowd weeks.
Updated in April 2018, it includes guidance for the new Avatar: World of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and an alternate set of instructions for the to-open on June 30 Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- Toy Story Land will be opening at the Studios June 30. Unusual operating patterns from then through the week beginning 8/18 mean the following:
- For visits when your Studios days are before June 30, use the itinerary and To-do List as written
- For visits when your Studios days are between June 30 and and August 25, use the updated FastPass+ instructions and touring plans for the Studios day you will find on this page.
- For Studios days after 8/25, I’ll be publishing an appropriate set of FastPass+ and touring plans shortly
On its first Animal Kingdom day, it uses a Rivers of Light Dining Package to save a FastPass+. Note that this package is available sometimes only 3-4 months ahead, rather than the 180 days ahead that most dining is available.
I’m not keen on this itinerary, as it has little rest time. Moreover, to see both evening shows at Hollywood Studios, you need to add an expensive Park Hopper to your tickets.
This itinerary does not work all dates, and some dates that it mostly works it may need some little adjustments. Use the comment form below to check with me on your dates.
As in all images and tables on this site, click it to enlarge it.
The recommended dining reservations and FastPass+ that make it work are in the To-Do List.

Would this 7 night Saturday arrival plan work for dates September 22 – 29, 2018? We will be staying for 7 nights with park hopper plus.
Hi Christie, there’s no way to know until Disney releases its hours for then, which it will do about 6 months before then–in late March/ealry April. SO ping me back then, OK?
A Family of 5 (including a 5 Yr old 44 inches in height) will be going to Disney World from Saturday April 14, 2018 (late afternoon arrival) through Friday April 20 (leaving Saturday). We will be staying in a condo off-site and driving to the Parks each day. We bought 5-day Base Tickets. Does this Itinerary seem reasonable?
Saturday – Rest
Sunday – Magic Kingdom (open to close)
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – Animal Kingdom (open to close)
Wednesday – Hollywood Studios (noon to close)
Thursday – Magic Kingdom (open to close)
Friday – Epcot (noon to close)
Hi Mark, yes, but you do need to book your FastPass+ as soon as possible–if you have not already.
Hi Dave great site! I’m going the week of Oct 20th for 7 days and fitting in one day of Universal. On your itinerary for seven days arriving on Saturday what would you recommend changing to go to Universal?
Kevin, sorry but I don’t follow Universal closely enough to give you guidance on this.
I will be leaving late on the 10/26
We are going to Disney World the week after Thanksgiving this year. We are a large family of seven, and we are a military family as well. We will be staying offsite, and we have five day park hopper passes. What itinerary do you recommend for a Saturday arrival and then leave the following Saturday, especially concerning the new toy story land? Thanks so much for all you do!
Hi Meghan! None of my itineraires on this site will work. You could use the one and two day park touring plans in my book, but they don’t yet include Toy Story Land (they will in a month or so).
Everyone but the three year old will enjoy everything, so I’d advise two MK days and one each in the other three parks. This will take some editing, or overly long days, at the three one day parks. Here the one day plans (and ride reviews!) in the book will help.
I forgot to add my children’s ages: they are 12, 10, 8, 7 and 3. Thanks!
