Seven Night Itinerary Revisions for Summer Visits to Disney World

By Dave Shute

After Toy Story Land opens on June 30, 2018, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be profoundly shifting its FastPass+ tiering, and, at least through August 25, its operating calendar as well.

Because of this, for the one full day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the Seven Night Itineraries during this period,  I’ve revised both the pre-booked FastPass+ and the daily touring plans. These changes affect both the To-Do List and the Daily Itineraries.

The changes are exactly same for both the Seven Night Higher Crowd Itinerary, which covers most of this period, and the Seven Night Lower Crowd Itineraries, which covers the last week, so I present them just once.

I’ll cover To-Do List changes first, and then lay out the daily plan. The only changes are to the Hollywood Studios day.

I’ll develop revised itineraries for arrivals 8/25 and later after the operating schedules for those dates firm up a bit, but regardless before June 26, which is when the 60 day FastPass+ date hits for 8/25.

TO-DO LIST CHANGES

To-Do List Section D; add change in red

1. Go to your MyDisneyExperience account at 7am and set up the following hard-to-get FastPass+, booking them in the order noted

  • Monday at Hollywood Studios: Slinky Dog Dash for 8-9a

2. Second, continue with the rest but change the FastPass+ plans for Monday

  • Monday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Tier One: Slinky Dog Dash. Tier Two: Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Set Slinky Dog Dash for 8-9a, Tower of Terror for 9-10a, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for 10a-11a
  • Wednesday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Tier One: Slinky Dog Dash; Tier Two: Star Tours and the Frozen Sing-Along. Set Slinky Dog Dash for 8-9a, Star Tours for 9-10a, and Frozen for the 10.30a show

TOURING HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS THE SUMMER AFTER TOY STORY LAND OPENS

Pre-book FastPass+ for Slinky Dog Dash (8-9a), Tower of Terror (9a-10a), and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (10-11a)

  • Arrive at the Studios by 45 minutes before the scheduled opening
  • At open, see Star Tours
  • See Slinky Dog Dash (FP+)
  • See Muppet Vision 3-D
  • See Tower of Terror (FP+)
  • See Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (FP+). As soon as you tap in, look for additional FastPass+, and keep refreshing for additional options. Toy Story Midway Mania is your highest priority, but First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along and Indiana Jones are also good choices if Midway Mania is not available.
  • See the 11a Beauty and the Beast
  • See Voyage of the Little Mermaid
  • Check the show times and fit in First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along and Indiana Jones among lunch and the additional FastPass+ you may be able to get in the afternoon.
  • Mix Disney Junior Live on Stage, Walt Disney Presents, March of the First Order, Star Wars: A Galaxy far Far Away, and Star Wars Launch Bay among any FastPass+ you are able to book for later in the afternoon. Once you’ve made your way through the attractions, look for FastPass+–ideally the first show
  • Have dinner
  • See Fantasmic—be in line by 30 minutes before if you have FastPass+, and 60 minutes before if you don’t
  • If you have not been able to get a FastPass+ for Toy Story Midway Mania, get in line for it after Fantasmic.
  • See Alien Swirling Saucers if of interest
  • Return to a favorite ride or head back to your hotel.
