More Comment Troubles…
I seem somehow sometime yesterday to have turned the ability of the site to accept comments off other than from previous commentors…insult added to Thursday and Friday’s injury.
The ability for you to comment is now turned back on, but many comments added in the meantime are gone…if you don’t see your comment on the page you tried to add it to, or on the “Latest Comments” list on the right sidebar…your comment is just gone and I can’t get it back.
I’m very sorry, and promise to make entirely different mistakes in the future!

I’ve Lost Some of Your Comments…
MOVING MY TALENTS TO 199.189.111.68, AND LOSING SOME COMMENTS IN THE MEANTIME
For reasons explained here, I moved this site from one physical computer to another at about 9.30a yesterday morning. Because* it takes a bit for the internet to figure such things out, there have been two versions of this site floating around since then–the one you are on now is the “real one.”
Some people have asked questions or made comments since then on the “wrong” site. Those are just gone, and I can’t get them back!
So if you made a comment, and don’t see it on the list on the lower right side (or on the page you first left it) I’m incredibly sorry but it’s gone…
(*and because I didn’t anticipate this and do something like post a warning and/or close off comments…)

The Fourth of July at Walt Disney World
SPECIAL FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
Walt Disney World will be holding 4th of July celebrations this year at 3 parks:
- At Epcot, a special 4th of July version of Illuminations will show at 10p
- At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there will be a “Special July 4th Fireworks Presentation” at 9.45p
- At the Magic Kingdom, “Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will show at 9p
The same Magic Kingdom show will also be on July 3 at the same time. There are no special events at the Animal Kingdom, but it does have morning Extra Magic Hours.
As I write this, on July 4 2012 Epcot is scheduled to be open from 9a to 10p, the Magic Kingdom from 8a-1a, and the Studios from 9a-10p, although I’d expect to see later closes added as the 4th of July comes closer.
Those following this site’s Summer Itinerary will find themselves at the Animal Kingdom the 4th of July, and honestly I think that’s the right answer, as the other parks will be packed.
If you must see 4th of July fireworks at Disney World, the next best choice is the Magic Kingdom on the 3rd, and after that Epcot on the 4th.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue Not Closing for Rehab, Fall Bookings To Open this Week
Scurrilous rumor mongers–like me–have been claiming that Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue will be closed from October 1 2012 through December.
Never mind.
Word from multiples sources (see this, this and this) is that Hoop Dee Doo bookings for those dates will open later this week–as early, possibly, as June 12.
The times will be different: 4p, 6.15p, and 8.30p. I’ll update my itineraries and to-do lists this week.
Note that those planning to get to Hoop via the boat from the Magic Kingdom for the 4p show should be at the boat dock by 3p at the latest, to avoid the risk you’ll get trapped in the crowds returning to Fort Wilderness after the 3p parade.

Disney World Ticket Prices (Mostly) Increase
DISNEY WORLD TICKET PRICES GO UP (MOSTLY)
Disney announced Friday a set of new Disney World ticket prices effective yesterday.
You can find the effective new Disney World ticket prices here. For even more detail, see this.
CHANGES IN WALT DISNEY WORLD TICKET PRICES
All prices except one are rising.
In particular, the after tax per person per day cost of days after the fourth has gone up ~33%, from around $9 to around $12. This is after a 50% increase last year from about $6 to $9 per day.
This is still a bargain compared to the $80-$90 per person per day costs of the first three days of a ticket, so it doesn’t affect any of this site’s recommendations.
On the more positive side, the cost of doing both a park hopper and a “water park fun and more” pass has dropped. Each separately (for more than one day tickets) is $57, but adding both is in total now just $79 (both pre-tax).
This is interesting, but also does not affect any of this site’s suggestions, as there are no water parks in them…
