Disney World Higher Crowd Itinerary

By Dave Shute

Note: Disney is not currently offering FastPass+.  No restart date or intent to cancel or replace it has been announced.

Because of this and other factors, my itineraries are not of any use.

Below is my FastPass+ based Disney World itinerary for higher crowd weeks.

Note that things are changing so fast at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that I will keep updated FastPass+ and touring guidance on a new page, here.

On its first Animal Kingdom day, it uses a Rivers of Light Dining Package to save a FastPass+. Note that this package is available sometimes only 3-4 months ahead, rather than the 180 days ahead that most dining is available.

This itinerary does not work all dates, and some dates that it mostly works it may need some little adjustments. Check your week here.

As in all images and tables on this site, click it to enlarge it.

The recommended dining reservations and FastPass+ that make it work are in the To-Do List.

My thanks to you & Josh for your input into the books & websites. We will be in WDW 3/21/20-3/28/20, mostly following your high crowd itinerary. Do you anticipate revising the itinerary, and/or the daily FastPass+ strategies, between now and 1/20/20 when I have to put in our initial FastPass+ reservations? I didn’t know if the new Galaxy’s Edge or other recent openings would impact your current thoughts.

Thanks in advance for any additional insight.

Hey Rob, and glad to help!!

Frankly anything is possible, but I suspect we will know enough to be pretty clear by mid January–that is, before your dates

I used your Christmas itinerary 5 years ago, and it was fantastic. We are returning soon 3/22/20-3/28/20. Our work and school schedules will only allow us to arrive on Sunday. I was wondering what changes you would suggest to the high crowd itinerary starting on a Sunday. We have also decided not to do any character meals, as our teen boys are “too old” for that now. Thanks for you expert advice and this great resource of Disney wisdom.

Great to have helped, Wes!! I have found over the years that my itineraires don’t work well with shifts in arrival dates. You are better off using a mix of the one and two day park touring plans you’ll find in my book.

Our plans are changing due to park closing 3/16-3/31. Now looking for an 8-9 day window starting 6/6 ending no later than returning 6/19. Other option would be mid-July starting 7/11 returning no later than 7/22. What are your thoughts of starting trip other than Saturday for that long of a stay now that I have some flexibility, & when would be the best time in those windows. (I have your 2020 book, so if the answer is in there, please point me towards it.)

Rob, with the potential for folks who can’t go now rescheduling into the summer, it’s pretty hard to give thoughtful advice as to which among your choices would be better. If I were you, I’d pick June, on the theory that most people will pick later dates among their options to manage the risk of continued COVID-19 related problems during earlier dates…

Dave-Thanks for getting back so quickly. That confirms what I was thinking & I’m trying to get done. If the pandemic extends into June, I just keep rescheduling until I can’t anymore. My question is like throwing a big rock into the pond and trying to predict how the waves are going to erode the shoreline.

My stress level on planning this trip, especially now, would be way higher without your expertise. I don’t feel so all alone. Thanks again.
