Disney World Guide Book Giveaway!

By Dave Shute

Hey! This contest is over, and the winners are here.

On New Year’s Day—the first day of 2017—I will pick five winners of signed copies of The easy Guide to Your Walt Disney World Visit 2017, the latest edition of the best-reviewed Walt Disney World guidebook ever published.

From all the eligible comments on this page, I will pick three winners on the merits, and two randomly.

holiday-giveaway-of-the-easy-guide

Eligible comments need to include two statements:

  • One about how either this site, or The easy Guide itself, has actually helped you plan a Disney World trip
  • And, in the spirit of the season, another statement about how another site (or another guide book) has ALSO helped you. The obvious selections here would be co-author Josh’s easyWDW.com and/or a prior edition of our guide book, lol, but your statement could be about any other Disney World site or any other guidebook!

(Note that live links to other sites are OK, but because I get so much spam, they will get held for my approval, so may not show up right away.)

Want a free, signed copy of the best-reviewed Disney World guidebook series ever written? Then page down and add a comment now.

You helped me tremendously with your kind and patient questions to my many questions, which covered everything from the timing of our trips to restaurants to touring plans. Our oldest daughter got engaged on our first trip, our second trip was when we accompanied them on their honeymoon a year later , and our next trip will be with the first grandchild that is due in April. I’m looking forward to planning it – will start with your calendar to choose the best week and go from there!

Your site helped convince me to take a trip back to WDW during the first week of March 2017 (not that I need a ton of convincing), because it appears to be a fairly slow week before spring break season spirals out of control. And Josh’s site has helped me in so many ways, but I’ll just cite that it helped me plan my Epcot days on our May 2016 trip to hit Joy and Sadness and meet those awesome characters with minimal wait.

I follow you on Facebook and visit your web site. Facebook allows me to see your most recent updates and then I can click through to your website. Facebook posts have helped me stay up to date with changes to Walt Disney World. Your website has been very useful especially with the “weeks to visit rankings”. While I cannot avoid visiting in the summer because I work in a school and have school aged children, the rankings help pick the best summer weeks for us. I also like the site easyWDW.com – I really like the cheat sheets for the parks because they are extremely comprehensive. I don’t usually follow a touring plan myself but I like to read them and pick out a few suggestions. http://www.easywdw.com/easy/cheat-sheets/disney-world-cheat-sheets-maps-touring-plans-and-wait-times-4/

As a seasoned WDW visitor I always recommend your site to my friends for a comprehensive wealth of information! I have used easywdw.com for many years to plan my trip using Josh’s recommendations! Both sites helped me learn to use RD, FPs and touring plans to our advantage. I also must give a shout out to Kenny the pirate for all your character hunting needs!

Your site and josh’s are my go to site. Yours for your updated resort info and Josh for the the table services. We are going back in august 2017 (port orleans riverside) and would love to see the updated info on quick and table services.

Your site has helped me to know what time of year to go to avoid all the busyness. This will be my first trip to WDW!! I would love to receive your book! I’ve also gotten good information from The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World by Bob Sehlinger and Len Testa.

Last Christmas I received your book as a gift from my sister who visits WDW every year. I used your book and website as I planned my family’s first trip to WDW, and the week after Thanksgiving, all the planning payed off as we had the most magical vacation! Your honestly and dedication to planning yourself really helped when it came to picking what days we went to what parks, which resort we stayed at (conveniences for a 3-year old), and activities worth the price or not. I can’t thank you enough and recommend your book to everyone thinking about a Disney trip! We are beginning to plan our return trip and I can’t wait to get my hands on the 2017 edition!

This is actually my first visit here and Im planning our first Disney Vacation ever. Ive always wanted to take my kids to Disney and couldn’t, they are adults now. My son lost his 9 mo old son in 2014 and my daughter lost her 5 yr old Daughter in 2014, within 6 weeks of each other. So I am planning this special trip as a surprise to them. I think they need something special after what weve all been through. Im not really familiar with any other guide books as I’ve just recently started planning. I decided on your site because of the name: Your first Visit. Would love to win a copy of your guide book! Best of luck to everyone who enters! Thanks for offering the giveaway!

The Easy Guide book and your website helped my family of 4 make the most incredible, once in a lifetime trip to Disney World last December. I just happened to stumble upon your website and IT CHANGED EVERYTHING for how I planned our trip. I also found Josh’s EasyWDW.com thru your website and I still read the forums weekly to keep up to date. I stay up to date because….our once in a lifetime trip won’t be just once!! I’m starting to plan for trip 2 now!!! It’s so exciting to see the updates and plan for the new additions!! Your website is addictive, I keep coming back to read more and more!!! When we went, after following all the advice, we got so much more accomplished than I thought possible!! It truly was the best vacation ever and that was coming from my husband who hates when I schedule everything ahead of time!! He saw the value in your information after seeing other families struggling to figure out Disney while there, because they didn’t plan ahead! We tell everyone we know to get your book and check out your website (and Josh’s!). Thanks for all you do!!!

I never got the chance to visit Disney World as a child, so when I was an adult and finally found myself in a position to do so it was the top of my list. I decided to go in the fall of 2013 and was instantly overwhelmed with information- as a native of southern California I was familiar with Disney Land but new right away that WDW was so much more. Luckily I was blessed to find both your site and Josh’s site- and Josh’s acerbic wit as well as your calm guidance combined got me through. Your site was invaluable in nailing down a time of year as well as deciding on a resort (those room reviews!)- we eventually went with Pop as for a group of young teachers it was the cheapest by far but an excellent resort nonetheless. We used Josh for his infamous crowd calendars- as we could only afford a 3 day trip it was important to us that we use the right days for the right parks to ensure we could experience all we wanted during that time. The trip was a massive success and my friends were blown away by how smoothly the trip went- the crowds were manageable, the hotel wonderful, and we hardly waited in any lines! I told them I couldn’t take all the credit as there were a couple of geniuses online who seemed to have figured it all out. I’m in process of planning my second trip now, and can’t wait- I know with your guidance (and Josh’s sass) I will be fine! THANK YOU!

I love your itineraries and easywdw.com chat forum are how I plan.

I am planning a trip (first one in 6 years) and taking a family of 5 (3 of which have never been). I can’t wait to read your book to help me with the process.

I didn’t know what I was letting myself in for when I booked my first Disney holiday in 25 years. The first thing I realised was I needed help, gone are the days of just booking a holiday to Florida and buying tickets at the park gates, like when I was a child. And so I found your book. And what a find it was. I have read it and re-read it, dipping into the sections I needed. Selecting what to fast pass was invaluable and along with the print outs of the park maps from easy wdw I have managed to book my fast passes today. Also a last minute panic about meeting Anna and Elsa, quick question to Josh, answered in no time with a perfect solution. Thank you both for all your time and effort. Count down starts now for our Disney holiday from the UK, with ages spanning 3 to 73 :o) xx

I have put up with Josh on easydub since Feb 2011. I am owed something…

Hi! I rely on this site and EasyWDW.com to plan my trips and give advice to friends, family and coworkers. I enjoy all the information on your site, but I’ll narrow it down to my two favorite things on YourFirstVisit. The first thing is the complete resort reviews and advice about benefits and possible low points at each. I’ve used the information myself and sent others to links here often. The other favorite is the ranking of the best weeks to visit and your explanations and prediction on crowds. On EasyWDW.com, I really enjoy the restaurant/food entries. I used these reviews for planning my picks at the Flower and Garden in 2015 & 2016 and again for the Holidays Around the World food items in December of 2016. I also love reading the trip reports and forum posts there. Thanks to you, Dave & Josh for all the work on the sites and the book!

My husband purchased tickets for the family to go as one of my Christmas presents. I am 32 and my oldest is 11. We have never been and of course the 2. Yr old too. We will be having a family vacation in january there and also celebrating our 4 yr anniversary. I am so excited and stumbled upon this. This would be a topper to it all.

SO much that is new and exciting is coming in 2017. I would LOVE to get your unique take on it Dave!!

18 GrumpyDad4 { 12.27.16 at 9:34 pm }

Dave, I have to thank you for all that your site provides for planning a Disney World vacation. Your resort reviews make it so easy to narrow down the choices and your best week calendar prepares me for what I will face. I also find that the forum on Josh’s site, easywdw.com, has participants that are very willing to offer guidance.

I have used the amazing tips on making dining reservations to help me narrow down all the possibilities and find the perfect places for us to discover new and to die for favorites! There’s so many options it’s easy to get stressed and over complicate things. Another Web site we’ve used to help us plan our trips is Military Disney Tips. We are active duty military and sometimes there are so many different discounts and specials available to us, it’s impossible to decide what’s best if they’re not all in on place, or at least most of them in th same place. We want to plan the perfect family reunion trip to celebrate my husband’s return from his deployment in 2017. This guidebook will definately give us the tools we need for that.

I’m going to start losing my clients. I keep giving them the two sites to use for their planning and of course, the link to the Amazon site to buy the book. Eventually they’ll be able to plan it all on their own, answer their own questions, and won’t need a travel agent anymore! What have I done?! Thanks guys. 😉 Kidding aside, your info is priceless!
