November 2011 at Walt Disney World
OVERVIEW: NOVEMBER 2011 AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
This page reviews November 2011 Walt Disney World crowds, prices, deals and discounts, weather, and operating hours, and ends with week by week summaries.
Early November, with cooling but typically nice weather, low crowds other than the week beginning 11/5 (Jersey Week), and lower prices, has some of the best weeks of the year to visit.
Thanksgiving week is more expensive, and much more crowded.
The last few days of the month are part of one of the three best weeks to visit Walt Disney World.
November also has two special parties: the last shows of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and the first of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, each a special evening event–with its own ticket–that have become family traditions for many.
The Candlelight Processional begins the Friday after Thanksgiving.
The 2011 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival continues into November. See this for more. [Read more →]

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2011 at Walt Disney World
DISNEY WORLD’S SPECIAL CHRISTMAS PARTY
While Christmas itself is December 25 of course, Walt Disney World provides a special Christmas celebration at the Magic Kingdom many nights in November and December.
This celebration is called “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.”
At the party, many of the Magic Kingdom’s rides are open, and cookies and hot chocolate, special events, and slightly different Christmas parades and fireworks, and even snow (!) are offered.
The official Disney World page for this event can be found here.

Multiple 8a Openings in May
There’s an unusual number of 8a openings in May at Walt Disney World.
So far, these apply only to the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, but this may change.
At the Magic Kingdom, every Saturday is showing an 8a opening–and Friday May 6th is as well.
At the Hollywood Studios, because of the re-opening of Star Tours, 8a openings are currently showing for May 20, 21, and 22.
The Animal Kingdom is currently showing an 8a opening on May 22.
These changes (and other differences from the usual Disney World patterns) require changes to the Autumn-Winter-Spring itinerary for these weeks. Click here for details of these changes.
The best way to keep up with these changes is to check Disney’s park calendars.

Brazil Pavilion to Join Epcot’s World Showcase?
RUMORS OF BRAZIL COMING TO EPCOT
The second half of last week was abuzz with rumors of discussions between Disney and the Brazilian government regarding a Brazil Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase.
I first noticed it here, which referenced this, which in turn cited this.
This is just a rumor right now—and for almost 25 years, every single rumor about a new country coming to Epcot has been false. Based on that, you should probably stop reading this now.
(If you are in the mood for unfounded rumors that are more fun, check out this instead.)
On the other hand…
MAYBE BRAZIL REALLY IS COMING TO EPCOT
