UPDATE

The original version of this page provided suggestions for two specific problems: what to do if you are arriving June 5 2010, and how to revise the 7-night variant of the Easter/Summer itinerary for seeing Fantasmic.

It also commented on a general problem–dealing with Fantasmic changes in the standard 8 night Easter/Summer itinerary.

Because the same problems with the standard 8-night itinerary also showed up in Walt Disney World’s July calendar, I have simply created a new itinerary for summer at Walt Disney World. You can find it here.

As a result, I have edited out below everything except the June 5 and 7-night itinerary issues.

OVERVIEW

Walt Disney World has released its calendars for June 2010, and there are some minor problems with both the Summer Itinerary, and with the 7 Night Easter Summer Itinerary.

There are two different problems:

  • One is that both of these itineraries have you scheduled to see Fantasmic on the Wednesday of your trip, and—so far—Fantasmic is not scheduled for Wednesdays in June. This is likely to change–but perhaps not soon enough to help.
  • The second problem is that for the week beginning June 5, 2010, Disney has flipped some standard schedules around.

Suggestions are below for both itinerary types.

ITINERARY REVISION SUGGESTIONS

Suggestions for visitors intending to use the standard (8 night) Easter/Summer Itinerary for a June 5, 2010 arrival date:

Disney has flipped its normal Monday and Wednesday evening calendars this week.

I suggest you modify the standard Summer itinerary for this arrival week in this way:

  • Flip in both your itineraries and your To-Do List Monday and Wednesday—so you are doing the Studios on Monday and the Animal Kingdom on Wednesday.
  • Make sure to flip the Monday and Wednesday restaurant reservations in your To-Do List as well.

Suggestions for visitors intending to use the shorter 7 night Easter/Summer itinerary

You have a more complicated choice.

The only real option that makes certain you see Fantasmic is to skip Cirque du Soleil on Thursday night and head to the Studios that evening for Fantasmic instead.

This means also eliminating the steps on your To-Do List of making your Cirque du Soleil and Planet Hollywood reservations—eat dinner at a Studios counter (cash) instead.

For June 5 Arrival date: There are two problems this week—the Wednesday problem, and also the fact that Disney has flipped its normal Monday and Wednesday evening calendars this week.

I suggest you modify the shorter 7 night Easter/Summer itinerary for this arrival week in two ways:

  • First, flip in both your itineraries and your To-Do List Monday and Wednesday—so you are doing the Studios on Monday and the Animal Kingdom on Wednesday. Make sure to flip the Monday and Wednesday restaurant reservations in your To-Do List list as well.
  • Second, plan on seeing Fantasmic at the Studios on Thursday, rather than going to Downtown Disney and seeing Cirque du Soleil and eating at Planet Hollywood. This means you don’t make the reservations for Cirque du Soleil and Planet Hollywood that are indicated in the To-Do List.
