Monday: Walt Disney World Summer Itinerary v2

By Dave Shute

Previous Day  |  Next Day

Today is the first of your three visits to the Magic Kingdom! You will be there until 5p, then off to Fort Wilderness for the 6.15p Hoop Dee Doo Revue, then back to your hotel and to bed!

You need to be at your bus stop (Pop) by 7:20, or at the Resort Monorail Stop (Polynesian) by 7:40.

Your goal today at the Magic Kingdom is to see Fantasyland in the morning, and a number of less crowded attractions in the afternoon

  • Get up early and have breakfast in your room
  • Don’t forget your Hoop Dee Doo Revue tickets!
  • Pop Century Guests: Be at your hotel bus stop by 7:20 am, and catch the bus to the Magic Kingdom
  • Polynesian Guests: be at the Resort Monorail Stop (reached from the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House) by 7:40

  • Arrive by 8. When you are let in at the opening at 9, head straight for Cinderella’s Castle and go through it to Fantasyland
  • Ride first the attractions that because of their capacity, popularity, or both, get busy quickly–in order, Dumbo, Cinderella’s Golden Carousel, Peter Pan, and the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. If your children imagine they are too old to enjoy one or both of the first two–then they are, and skip to the next items on the list
  • Finish the remaining rides in Fantasyland
  • Note the time of your seating for Cinderella’s Royal Table Lunch (dining plan) and interrupt your morning for it as needed
  • Keep track of time, as you have a 3p parade to watch, and need to be at the boat docks at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom by 4p
  • When you have finished Fantasyland, go to Liberty Square and see the Hall of Presidents and ride the Liberty Belle steamboat
  • Time permitting, and fitting in around the 3p parade, see the following rides in Frontierland and Adventureland: The Country Bears, the Enchanted Tiki Birds, and the Swiss Family Treehouse (you will see the rides in these lands you are skipping tomorrow night or Saturday morning)
  • Watch the 3p parade
  • Shop on Main Street until it’s time to head to the boat docks at 5p (4p until 10/1/2012.)

Note: Bring The Comprehensive Guide to Rides and Rides that Might be Skipped in case your day gets to be too intense!

  • Be at the Magic Kingdom Fort Wilderness boat dock (ask a cast member if you can’t find it) for the resort launch to Fort Wilderness by 5p (4p until 10/1/2012.)
  • When you arrive at Fort Wilderness (NOT the Wilderness Lodge), follow the crowd, looking for Pioneer Hall–just a few hundred yards in from the boat dock
  • Check in for and enjoy the 6.15p Hoop Dee Doo Revue (two table credits) (5p until 10/1/2102)
  • Return to the boat dock and take the boat to the Magic Kingdom
  • Return to your hotel by TTC monorail if you are staying at the Polynesian, or by bus (at the Magic Kingdom bus area to the right of where you exit the boat) if you are staying at Pop Century

Tomorrow is the second of your visits to Epcot! You will be there in the morning, off in the afternoon, and back in the evening.

Hi Dave,
We are arriving at WDW Saturday 3/30 and leaving Saturday 4/06. I have been able to get every dinner reservation for the week listed on the Summer Itinerary v3 except for two. These include Cinderella’s Royal Table on Monday 4/01 for lunch and The Rainforest Cafe DTD on 4/03. I’m not sure that it will matter whether we miss either of these as we have three children the youngest 8 who is a boy and the older two 11 and 13 who are girls. Further, we are not planning to see Cirque du Soleil on Wednesday 4/03, so I really don’t see the purpose of having dinner at The Rainforest Cafe DTD. If you feel Cinderella’s Royal Table is still a must regardless, I do have reservations for noon on Thursday as well as the Hoop De Revue in the evening with a category 2 rather than the category 3 that I have reserved on Monday. I could just switch Monday and Thursdays itineraries if you feel that is a good plan. However, I’m open to suggestions if you think there is a better solution. In addition on Wednesday, 4/03 I have reservations for Biergarten at 7:00 if you think that is a good alternative to Rain Forest Cafe. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Rachel, I’m sorry, but I’m having trouble tracking your several questions. I can help, but I’ll be able to help more if you just write all your dining reservations by day, and your associated questions, into Word, and email it to me.

So here with new fantasyland, and seven dwarfs mine train coming, I wouldn’t ride dumbo first. I would actually go streight to enchanted tales with belle, then ride under the sea–little mermaid, get fastpass for peter pan’s flight, ride carrousel, and then get a fastpass for dumbo. After the return time for peter pan’s flight, get a winnie the pooh fastpass. Also they probably won’t be able to do liberty square or the other rides, besides fantasyland. I think you have made this before the new fantasyland expansion. Because it would be possible without new fantasyland. They might fit the liberty square riverboat in, but nothing else.
