Walt Disney World Calendar Changes to Six Months

In late October 2009 the Walt Disney World park calendar shifted from being available for the next three months to being available for the next 6 months.

At the same time, restaurants also became reservable six months out.

This site’s itineraries and To-Do Lists have been updated, as has its material on how long in advance your plans need to be firm.

Ideally, your plans should now be firm more than 180 days before your arrival date, so that you can reserve your dining sites for the right days and times. [Read more →]

Disclosure

The FTC has called for better disclosure of any payments or freebies related to reviews for products.

The short version is that none has been used in this site, although I have a couple of affiliations noted at the bottom of the page.

No free or loaned products or services, special rates offered only to me,  or any other such deals have been used in accessing the experiences or formulating the instructions, the recommendations, the rankings, or any other material on this site, the Walt Disney World Instruction Manual at yourfirstvisit.net.

All experiences used in this site’s reporting, reviews, rankings,  and recommendations have been paid for in cash at rates available to the general public.

I do have a couple of affiliations and sponsorships:

  • In the summer of 2010, I agreed to a relationship with Destinations in Florida, so if you use them as your travel agent through a link from this site, I get a little pixie dust back from them.
  • In June 2011–after recommending them for more than 3 years–I entered into a relationship with TouringPlans.com. If you buy one of their paid products through a link from this site, I get a little pixie dust back from them.
  • In November 2011,  SellMyTimeshareNOW.com became a sponsor of this site.
  • In September 2013 I entered into an affiliate relationship with Steve Bell around his e-book on Shades of Green, the Armed Forces resort at Walt Disney World.
  • In January 2016, I partnered with Official Ticket Center, so if you buy tickets from them via a link from this site, they spread a little pixie dust back to me.

New Walt Disney World Discount Plan Is Out

Disney’s latest discount plan is out.

It is another buy some nights and tickets and get some more free deal, but a little more complicated than such offers in the past, because the deal varies depending on where you stay.

If you are staying in anything other than a Value resort, if you buy 4 nights and 4 days worth of tickets, you get three more nights, and three more days of tickets, free.

If you are staying in a Value resort, you have to buy 5 nights and 5 days worth of tickets, and get for that two nights and two days of tickets free.

Free Disney World Dining Offer Expires Soon

BOOK NOW TO SAVE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS

Those looking to take advantage of Disney’s current dining promotion should book soon, as it is currently available only to those who book by September 26th

The promotion, if booked by then, applies to most dates from September 27th through December 17th. (The days around Thanksgiving—Wednesday November 25th through Saturday November 28th —are excluded.)

TWO TYPES OF FREE DINING PLANS

The promotion provides one of two dining plan variants for free for those who book an otherwise undiscounted trip of at least 3 nights in a Disney World Resort.  (See Where to Stay.)

Those who stay in anything other than a value resort get the basic dining plan, which provides, per night of your reservation, and for every person three and older on your reservation, a snack, “counter service” meal (think cafeteria), and a “table service” meal.  (Think waiters.)
