Visa Deal Prefigures Next Week’s General Public Free Dining

By Dave Shute

Free Dining 2014 from yourfirstvisit.netAfter a remarkable 24 hours, Disney released today free dining for Disney Visa holders. The offer that will come out Wednesday May 7 for the general public should be near-identical.

The Visa free dining offer covers the following arrival dates:

  • August 31 – October 3
  • October 26 – November 1
  • November 9 – November 20
  • December 12 – December 23

Those getting the deal for a value resort get the Quick Service Dining Plan for free. Those at moderates or deluxes get the regular Disney Dining Plan for free. For more details, see this.

Excluded from the offer are All-Star Movies and the Little Mermaid standard rooms at Art of Animation among the values, Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside at the moderates, campsites at Fort Wilderness, and the Villas at the Grand Floridian.

My friends at Destinations in Florida can help you with this or any other deal!

Hi Dave,

So why do you think Disney has offered free dining so early on and for the rest of the year for varying arrival dates?

Scott–I’m just guessing, especially as I would NEVER have predicted it, but my guess is that it’s to get people locked into WDW hotels before the buzz about Harry Potter 2 hits a crescendo, the rest of the rooms at Cabana Bay open up, and the Four Seasons starts pulling people out of the monorail resorts…

Just switched everything and added an extra day stay/ticket! SO excited! Thanks, Dave for the information and updates!

Yay! Have a great trip, KE!

DVC still excluded?

Melissa, DVC using points is excluded, as it almost always is. DVC for cash is in.

I saw a free dining deal for 3 nights also…i thought it was only for 6+ nights?
Disney Visa email says 6 nights but other sites indicate 3 nights..

Keith, the deals always show example stays, not minimums. The minimums are two ticket days and three hotel nights.

We are booked for 4 nights, 5 days and got the Visa deal. 🙂

Dave,

They sound like plausible theories. Well the offer is good for the Disney customers that is for sure.

Dave, Is there any chance they would add dates in October at a later time? we have booked the 17th – 25th – obviously those dates do not fall in the “free dining” dates. If not that, do you think we could at least hope to get room discounts?

Geoff it’s possible but WAY unlikely…I do expect room discounts to come out for then, likely in early August…
