Hi dave. Staying at POR Oct 23 -28 this fall. Saw the FD offer this morning and after an hr and 20 min on hold was told there wasn’t any availability at POR. I could switch to CB or CS but I didn’t know a lot about those resorts and we were really looking forward to POR. W we like the resort theming and the access to DTD by boat. First visit to disney for me and my two kids ages 6 and 9 and my husband hasn’t been in 20 yrs. What do you think? Should we switch?

Loran, if it were me, I’d switch. Depending on my mood, CB or CSR would be my first choice–CB for the theming, CSR for the overall amenities and greater convenience compared to CB. For version 1, see this and its links https://yourfirstvisit.net/2013/03/25/walt-disney-worlds-moderate-resorts/ and for the seocnd see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2013/03/28/the-moderates-remix/

DTD is not that big a deal on first visits, and the boat is really slow—and in the evening has long lines…
