Dave–

We’ll be a party of 7. On our reservations, how fast can you get seated if you’re there at or just before your reservation time? I’m assuming relatively quickly, but that might not be accurate.

Hey Troy! They want you to check in 10 minutes before your time. They will then seat you (in order of reservation times) in the next available table for your party size. It can be right away, or even 10 or 15 minutes after your time, depending on the pace of people eating…

Steven there’s a few traditional Thanksgiving offerings at WDW, but I’d guess they have been reserved for months. See this: http://blog.undercovertourist.com/2012/11/a-thanksgiving-day-planning-guide-for-walt-disney-world/

Hi! Thanks so much for this site, it’s SO helpful!

We are going to a wedding in September in Florida (9/28) and are planning on going to Disney either the week before or after the wedding. It will be 2 adults and 1 two year old. We are really not interested in table service (rather just quick service) since we have a young toddler. Would it still be worth getting the quick service meal plan?

Also, we would like to stay at the AoA Little Mermaid room and are hoping the free dining plan will align with our dates. Do you think we should book our dates now and then add the dining plan later (is that even possible?) since they may not announce it until less than 180 days before our travel date. I just don’t want to miss out on that specific room, but I would still like to take advantage of the free dining (if offered).

Thank you so much for all the info you put out and for any additional help you can offer!

Hi Rachel, and thanks!!

First there just may not be any free dining–see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2013/02/07/2013-free-dining-mymagic-implications-disneys-q1-2013-earnings-call/ and if there is, it will be more likely to be offered for your earlier dates.

If there’s an offer, and if AofA Lil Mermaid is eligible (it’s not been eligible for a lot of deals so far, because demand is so high for it) then you can convert a package you book now to the deal when it comes out, by calling Disney.

Hope this helps!

We will be staying at the Grand Floridian and have a dinner at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. How do we get to the AKL ? We have never been to the Lodge and only to the AK Park. We have never seen the Lodge, outside of pictures. We will not have a car. Thanks Dave

We will be staying at the GF in early November. Will there be a problem getting to the MK on Nov. 9 for a 8:30 breakfast and at Epcot at 8:30 am breakfast by using the monorail? We did not have problems last year but it seems like the monorail schedule has changed. Thanks Dave

Mike you’ll have no problem making those times, but with lotsa monorail changes relating to maintenance, it may end up being by bus. Check with the lobby concierge the night before each.
