New Free Dining Deal for Some September, November and December Dates
By Dave Shute
Today, Walt Disney World released a free dining offer covering arrivals September 1 through September 18, November 17 through November 27, and December 8 through December 23.
At the values, only the Art of Animation Family Suites are available in September, and All-Star Movies and the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation are excluded in the November and December dates. Free dining at the values means the Quick Service plan.
At the moderates, the two Port Orleans resorts are excluded. Free dining at the moderates means the Quick Service plan.
All the deluxes are in all dates.
At the Disney Vacation Club resorts, the Villas at the Grand Floridian and Bay Lake Tower are excluded.
At both the deluxes and the DVC resorts, free dining means the regular dining plan.
There’s more here on the Disney website.
A room rate deal came out today too. Smaller groups in more expensive resorts may do better with it, and it has many more eligible dates. See it here.

Dave! thanks for the heads-up, our family was able to book a quick September trip at WDW staying at Art of Animation. We have 4 day Park Hopper+ Tickets. We’re repeat visitors and have read through much of the great research and analysis you’ve shared online! Still the late decision to book, extra EMH, etc., etc., kinda hurts our heads for planning! ha!
We’re checking in very late Fri. 9/13 and have to check out Wed. 9/18t
So far we’re thinking:
Sat 9/14-Typhoon Lagoon (never been, the kids 16/12 seem psyched) unsure about evening plans…Disney Springs?, fireworks at Magic Kingdom…?
Sun. 9/15 Magic Kingdom till MNSSHP early close, then maybe park-hop to?Epcot? for Illuminations?
Mon. 9/16 Epcot in the morning, then maybe park-hop to Hollywood Studios? or vice-versa?
Tues. 9/17 Animal Kingdom in the morning, resort pool/nap afternoon, then attend MNSSHP, arrive by 4 p.m.
Wed. 9/18 check out
Thanks for any feedback!
I am planning to book a trip to Disney for after thanksgiving timeframe, Arriving on nov 27 or 28th maybe, for a minimum of 9 nights, but hoping to stay up to 2 weeks! Do you have a sense of when the hotel deals would come out for vacations starting around that timeframe?
Also really struggling with hotel choice. You recommend AOA for first timers, but we only have 4 people, our 2 kids are boys, ages 12 and 8 (when we go). I am afraid they won’t want a mermaid room as that seems girlish and we probably need 2 queen beds and a small table to eat breakfast… what are your thoughts? Also this will be the kids second visit, we previously stayed at PO Riverside in a Riverview room and loved it we really enjoyed the boat, and had a rental car last time….that last trip was amazing and we did a lot of it based on information I got from you on this site and in the guidebook. Thank you ever so much!
Lauren, so glad to have been helpful!!
If you want two queens and a bed that does not disappear when the queens are down, then a moderate is the lowest-priced option among the Disney resorts. Moderates are great choices for returning visitors. I have an overview of the moderate options here.
If having the table go away when a queen is unfolded from the wall is OK, right now all of Pop Century and All-Star Movies fit that, and All-Star Music probably will be completely like that by the time of your trip.
Room rate discounts for your dates were announced in mid-July 2019 for 2019, and mid-June 2018 for 2018.
