Disney World 2016 Price Seasons

By Dave Shute

2016 RESORT PRICE SEASONS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

Disney World 2016 Price Seasons from yourfirstvisit.netThe material below shows resort price seasons at Walt Disney World at different times of the year in 2016.

(For 2017 prices, see this, and for 2018 prices, see this.)

Only one-day ticket prices vary over the course of the year–multi-day tickets do not, although they typically have an annual increase during the year. See this for more on ticket prices.

Resort prices, however, can be almost twice as high during some periods as they are at others.

2016 DISNEY WORLD PRICE SEASONS

Below are Walt Disney World 2016 resort price seasons by resort type.

“X% Higher” means compared to the lowest prices of the year. Because these increases are different on some weekends vs. weekdays, increases are averaged across the recommended 8 night visit.

In addition to the details below, Disney ups prices an additional $10-50 per night during certain weekends and holidays–particularly over the Marathon weekend, Martin Luther King Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, and Columbus Day weekend.

Disney World 2016 Price Seasons from yourfirstvisit.netYou can see–well, maybe you can see–the full prices over the year from the chart above.

Hi Melissa, I’m Kelly, the designated Destinations in Florida. I would love to help you plan your 2016 Disney vacation. Disney hasn’t yet released its 2016 prices. They historically do this in July or August. If you send me your contact information, I’ll be more than happy to contact you when they do. My services are free. You can reach me at kellyb@destinationsinflorida.com.

I want to plan a trip for my family to go to Disney world.

Hi I’m trying to plan a trip April 7-17 in 2016 do you know when the 2016 pricing will be out

6 Dave { 06.11.15 at 7:30 am }

Cassidy, the last few years it has come out in July–late July last year, around the 10th the two prior years.

7 Jas B { 06.14.15 at 4:14 pm }

Hi I’m planning a trip for 2016. I wanted to do it like in February close to my 2 year anniversary but a friend of mine told me that the water doesn’t open until late May. This will be my first visit to WDW and even tho I am 28 year old im a kid at heart and would like to have the full Disney experience. Is the open and closing schedule out for 2016 for the water park. And how soon should I start to plan my trip.

8 Dave { 06.15.15 at 8:00 am }

Jas, based on this, I would stop listening to your friend, since there is a water park open year round. Disney has two, and in the winter one of the two is closed, the other open. The specific February schedule won’t be out for a month or so, but it’s not uncommon in Feb for it to be cold enough that no one goes to the waterpark–or even for Disney to close it for a day or two if it’s really cold.

Looks like Values and Moderates have different seasons than the Deluxes do, especially in the late summer/early fall. (that’s when I go) I’m not happy with the price increases and the season changes for the Value/Moderate resorts…guess I’ll just have to try the Deluxes! 🙂

10 Dave { 07.01.15 at 7:56 am }

Yes, they have had different seasons for as long as I can remember.

11 Terry Baker { 07.20.15 at 4:43 pm }

Question….I know full price 2016 packages have been released. Historically, when do they release package deals for 2016?

12 Dave { 07.21.15 at 5:56 pm }

Terry, deals come out typically in lumps. The next one, which likely will cover into March, will likely come out in later September or early October.

I’m Planing a trip starting the Sunday after Thanksgiving 2016 for 4 adults and 5 kids. This will be everyone’s first time going and we wand it to be the best. We will be staying for 7 days. We want to see and do as much as we can in the allotted time. I don’t want after the trip regret missing something.

15 Dave { 07.26.15 at 9:19 am }

Dustin, how old are the kids?

16 Dustin Brooks { 07.26.15 at 12:04 pm }

7-8-9-12-14

17 Dave { 07.28.15 at 8:36 am }

OK, Dustin, that means they are old enough for everything! Use this as a starting point: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2014/05/27/fastpass-six-night-basic-december-itinerary/ I may have to modify it when WDW’s December operating schedule comes out–in mid-May.

Hey!! I’m planning a trip in Jan 2016, I was curious if there was any thing you suggest we must do or any packages that are worth it!

19 Marta { 08.25.15 at 4:27 pm }

I am planning the trip of my life with my four granddaughters ages 9. 11, 12 and 17. May 15 to 27. The two younger ones don’t understand English. The other two may catch some, but certainly not evrything. I would appreciate any suggestions you can give me.

20 julieta { 09.10.15 at 9:12 am }

Hello, I plan my trip to disney February 29 to March 9, when you already know will leave a promo for that date free meal plan?

21 Dave { 09.11.15 at 6:18 am }

Julieta, I expect room rate deals for then to be announced later this month, but not free dining.

22 Jenn { 12.02.15 at 9:24 pm }

Thinking about trying to plan trip for the end of January for my husband and girls (ages 5,7,9)…this would be our first trip…so overwhelmed! We are on a tight budget. Is it too late to plan???

23 Dave { 12.03.15 at 10:49 am }

Jenn, if this will be your only visit, and dining is important to you (which it may not be, given your tight budgets point) it is a bit late. If you aren’t looking to eat in Disney’s most storied but also expensive locations, then yes, you can do it! You just have to move fast.

One problem you will face is that it will be hard to find affordable on-site options for 5. The two least expensive are Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside.

In your spot, you have a lot of important decisions to make quickly. Kelly can help, and you might want to get my book. The book is similar to this site, but everything is shorter, to the point, and better organized!!

27 Michelle { 01.27.16 at 7:20 am }

We are planning a trip for Nov 2017. Should I look into buying tickets now? Also does Military discount tickets expire?

28 Dave { 01.27.16 at 8:34 am }

Michelle, there is no Military salute program after December 2016–all the tickets in the current program expire in the middle of that month. It may be renewed for 2017…

29 Mary Lou { 02.11.16 at 12:23 pm }

I’m planning a trip for our family – 6 adults, 4 grandkids ages 7, almost 6, almost 5, & 3 1/2 for either sometime during the first 3 weeks after Thanksgiving 2016 or sometime in April or May, 2017. This will be the first time for all the grandchildren & I want it to be special with breakfasts with Princesses or Disney characters, etc. Any advice? Thanks.

30 Dave { 02.11.16 at 5:20 pm }

Mary Lou, see this.

For more details, read through the dining reviews in our book and pick based on those!

31 Kelly B - Agent with Destinations in Florida { 03.05.16 at 7:30 pm }

Hi Mary Lou,

I’m Kelly the designated Destinations in Florida Travel agent for YourFirstVisit.net. There are so many choices for you to choose from. I would definitely plan a breakfast at Akershus (in Epcot). This is an amazing Princess character meal. One of our favorites. Crystal Palace and Tusker House top our list as well. Remember when you book a Disney vacation with me and DiF all our services (including dining planning) are Free. I would love to help you book your Disney vacation. Contact me at KellyB@DestinationsinFlorida.com

32 Jennifer { 04.30.16 at 3:50 pm }

Hi Kelly, those are the exact 3 character dining experiences we have booked for our October trip! Is it too soon or too late to find out about Disney offers for October?
