Hi Dave, Disney just released the HS hours for our HS day, which is Tues Nov 26, and it’s only open from 9 am – 9 pm. This is kind of a relief b/c I was worried they’d do the 6 am openings for Thanksgiving week. However, I am thinking that these hours are so short they might change later. But, the question is, if they keep to this schedule when should we arrive at the gates? Not interested in seeing SW, but want to be assured of getting into HS for our FP and dining. Probably will set up first FP around 9:30 if possible. I realize that the answer could change several times before the trip, but I wanted to be thinking about the plan. Thank you!

Jane, hours are routinely extended. There’s usually a complete update about a month before, but they may change again about a week (and even the day) before, depending on crowds.

On when to arrive if they keep this schedule…ask me again in early November, as there will be so much more data then! I don’t really expect complete park closures.

Hi Jane, evening EMH don’t much help unless they end so late–e.g.1a–that folks leave before they end. Or as noted above, “But the latter part of evening EMH can work well, if they extend deep enough into the night to be an impediment to folks staying up that late.:

Hi Dave, do evening EMH actually clear people out of the park? I’ve never been to WDW during any EMH, but it seems to me that during the AM when people truly can’t get in it would be less crowds, but in evening when people can be there but just not ride rides there would still be a significant number of people doing shopping, dining etc.
