Hi Dave. Just back from our 4th trip (3rd was pre-COVID and pre-Skyliner). We stayed at AoA and the Skyliner was AMAZING. We always liked staying at the Yacht Club for the boat to HS and walking to Epcot. While nothing beats a short walk for serious rope droppers like us, the Skyliner was a close second. It’s now my preferred transport. Hoping the start to develop more. Or maybe, just maybe, an actual people mover. Anyway, just thought I’d throw this in, especially because I had very low expectations.

I couldn’t disagree with you more on the skyliner. We always stay at Pop. The skyliner is at least as quick as the bus and there is no wait to get on. If you take the bus, you don’t know how long you will have to wait until the bus gets there, unloads EVCs, reloads EVCs and leaves. We have ridden the skyliner many times over our 2 trips this year, with no issues. I do agree that it’s not useful to get to early HS opening. That was the only time we didn’t use it.

Dave, I love reading your reviews and the details on your site. I wanted to leave a comment regarding the skyliner. Now this was not our 1st trip (4th actually) but we stayed at Caribbean Beach and the Skyliner was amazing for HS and Epcot. I would highly recommend them, it was by far the easiest of any transportation we have used. They started running at 6:30 the week we were there and ran until 10:00. We did have a few times when it stopped but never for more than a min or so. If you are staying at a resort on the skyliner I would highly recommend it!

Hi Dave, our trip is over and we ended up using the Skyliner a lot and loved it. We were just too tired to wait for the bus on our HS day when the Skyliner was, literally, minutes walk from our room at AOA. We used it for both our HS and Epcot days and had no trouble at all. I was worried, at least mildly, the whole time but it ran very smoothly and we loved it.

Jane I hope you had a wonderful trip, and that I helped at least a bit! And thanks for the report on the Skyliner…

Jane honestly the bus will be your best choice. I just wouldn’t use the Skyliner (I assume it will be running) on a time sensitive trip right now. The bus will be an easier total experience than your car. It will face the same traffic, but put you closer to the park entrance. Your car is not a bad choice, but taking the bus frees you to take the Skyliner back to AofA!

Hi Dave, I had been intending to use the skyliner to get from AOA to HS on our one HS day but now I’m not sure b/c I heard it doesn’t start running until 8 am and there is a 7 am EMH that got added. Not sure if my party can get out there that early….but still, need to figure out a solution. We have our car but also were (used to be) worried that massive SW crowds would crush the park (Nov 26). What would you recommend for our arrival if we wait until the skyliner is open? Skyliner, bus, or our car? If skyliner is running that early I’d probably take it. Thanks!
