Disney World Room Rate Deal for Late September to Late December 2012

By Dave Shute

NEW DISNEY WORLD ROOM RATE DISCOUNT

Disney World has announced a new room rate deal that covers arrivals most nights from September 30, 2012 to November 16, 2012 and November 24, 2012 to December 22, 2012.

Savings under this deal are convoluted—some resorts are excluded, and the discount varies by night. See the calendar on the right side of this page for the gory details.

In general, though, here’s what Disney World has on offer:

  • Value resorts: save 15-20%; Art of Animation Little Mermaid and All-Star Movies excluded; Art of Animation Family Suites excluded some dates, available others
  • Moderate resorts: Save 20-25%; Port Orleans French Quarter excluded
  • Deluxe resorts: save 15-30%; Savanna view rooms at AKL excluded
  • Disney Vacation Club resorts: save 25-30%; Beach Club Villas, Wilderness Lodge Villas, Bay Lake Tower, and savanna views at Jambo and Kidani excluded

This deal must be booked September 29, 2012 for October travel, and by October 31 for November and December deals.

See Disney’s page here for more details and which nights which discounts are available.

Dave, do you think the AP discounts will be slightly better when they come out or the same?

Mike, I haven’t tracked AP discounts closely closely to the room rates discounts so don’t have a prediction…but they’ve been getting closer and closer together over the past few years, so maybe another 500 basis points of discount, maybe the same…

Hi Dave,

Thanks so much for posting this deal. I have been checking your site for a deal like this and am so excited to see this, have just booked!!

Thanks again from a very happy Aussie 🙂

A lot frustrated! We’ve had reservations for the Poly for quite a long time and our travel agent said to watch for the discounts that would apply to our stay. We received your notification of the room discounts and called our travel agent right away. She contacted Disney only to hear that there were none remaining at the Poly. If that’s the case, then why is the Poly still on everyone’s discount list? Needless to say, we are not happy. 🙁

Sandy, that stinks…the really popular resorts often have just a few rooms allocated, and they go really fast…especially on the more popular dates

Dave, when we booked the Polynesian for 11/6-11/13, we didn’t think this was a more popular time and thought we would have the good fortune to secure a discount closer to our travel time. The dining plan didn’t work out and now this! Working through our disappointment, but still upset with the outcome.

Sandy, sadly, the second most popular week of the fall (other than Thanksgiving) is the first full week of November, and especially the latter part of it–because it’s Jersey week.

See this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/05/02/jersey-week-at-walt-disney-world/

It’s not a bad week, but popular enuf that Disney never offers free dining during it, and limits other discounts–because it doesn’t need to offer much in the way of deals to get its hotels filled…

Seriously? Wow! Who woulda thought. Oh well, we’ll know better next time I guess. Thanks for the info Dave!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Sandy!

Hi Dave,

Have a question in relation to Mickey’s Christmas Party. We have tickets to this for the 15th Nov and I’m now trying to plan our meals around this party. Is it a good idea to have dinner reservations before the party, during or after?? So confused. Is there somewhere on this site that gives a review or run down of what to expect? I’m not sure where to look.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Lyra!

Dinner should be before the party–e.g. a reservation no later than 5.30p.

For an overview of the party, see the second half of this page: https://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/basic-itinerary/basic-itinerary-daily-links/tuesday-basic-itinerary/

Hope this helps!

Lyra, I would also suggest Dinner at one of the Restaurants near the Magic Kingdom. How about Ohana? Great restaurants and it’s near by!
