A SMALL LANDMARK

Sometime yesterday, this site crossed 150,000 visitors; sometime today, it will cross one million page views.

These are minor blips in the cosmic scheme of the Internet. Lady Gaga must do that every five minutes…but even so, considering that when I started a couple of years ago, all I knew was that I thought this site had something to contribute, and that my mom would probably read it…I am kind of astonished.

Thanks to all of you for coming and looking around! And more importantly, I hope the site has helped!

To celebrate, I am going to Walt Disney World this weekend—to see and review a few changes, re-test a couple of elements of my Disney World summer itinerary for first time visitors, and see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

WHAT’S NEXT

My tasks for summer are already clear.

I’ll write reviews from my visit this weekend, and update the summer itinerary if needed.

I have a backlog of hotel reviews to complete—places I’ve stayed recently but have not yet written up: Fort Wilderness Campground, BoardWalk Villas, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and All-Star Music.

I’ll be at All-Star Movies this weekend.

This means I will have stayed in all four of the values over the last year or so, so once I publish the individual reviews of Music and Movies, I’ll be able to do an overall page like the one published last fall about the Disney World moderate resorts.

2011 prices and price seasons will come out in August, so I’ll update all the Disney World budgeting and price season material after that.

Over the course of the summer, I’ll be gathering final data on 2011 school spring break dates, and re-estimating their effects on 2011 spring break crowds at Disney World.

Based both on this and the official 2011 price seasons, I’ll then look at the current version of 2011 Weeks to Visit Walt Disney World, Ranked in Order, and revise it as necessary.

The final major task for the summer will be to create a Week Picker App for 2011 like the 2010 Week Picker App published last fall.
