MADE YOUR PLANS FOR YOUR FIRST VISIT TO DISNEY WORLD YET?

This site recommends that first time family visitors arrive at Walt Disney World the Saturday a week after Thanksgiving—in 2010, that’s December 4th.

It also recommends that your Walt Disney World plans be firm more than 180 days in advance, because with that timing you can reserve the best—and most quick to book solid—Disney dining venues.

Well, 180 days before December 4 is tomorrow…so have you made your plans for your first trip to Disney World yet?

WHY IS THAT WEEK THE TARGET DATE?

I recommend that week for first time visits to Disney World from a combination of things to avoid (ride closures, higher prices, the peak of the hurricane season, and higher crowds) and things to cherish: Disney’s Christmas programs.

If you can’t do that week, this site also ranks here the weeks of 2010 in order of how well they work for first trips to Disney World, based on these same criteria.

Moreover, if you want to base your dates for your first visit to Disney World on how you personally feel about crowds, prices, and weather, you can find a tool here that will let you do that.

WHAT IF IT’S TOO LATE?

Certain recommended meals are among the best loved-events at Disney World. Thus they book up quickly. The later you try to book them, the lower chance you will have of getting in.

At some point, you would be better off going to Walt Disney World at a later date so you can participate in more of these. See this page for more help if it’s already to late.
