Hi,
What a great site. I would really love your help though as I am totally overwhelmed!
We are wanting to come over from Australia from the 10th Jan 2014. Is this a good time? we have 2 kids 4 (girl) and 6 (boy). we would really love to stay in one of the fun rooms for kids but looking at all the site they are all sold out. how far out do you need to book to get these?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks,
G
Hi Gen, and thanks!
The key question is whether or not this will be you only trip. If it’ll be your only trip–well, then the kids are too young (see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/how-oldtall-your-children-should-be/ ) and you’ll also potentialy face misisng some of the best loved rides from ride closures–see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/05/12/winter-ride-closures-at-walt-disney-world/
If you’ll be able to return, that’s an OK time. The weekends of the 11th and of the 18th will both be crowded–the first from the DIsney marathon, and the second because it’s a US holiday weekend. But the days in between, and after the 20th, should be wonderfully uncrowded.
The reason you can’t book is that the on-line system won;t let anyone nbook beyond 2013 right now. That should change this month, sometime, when the final 2014 prices are out and in the system. In the meantime, if you are not willing to wait, see this: https://yourfirstvisit.net/2011/02/21/how-far-in-advance-can-you-book-a-walt-disney-world-vacation/
Hope this helps a bit, and keep the questions coming…

Hello.I love your site.Could you help with an itenary for visiting the parks in september.I will be visiting disney for the first time with my 2kids<9yrs and will stay offsite from 09/03 – 09/10.Am really confused as to what to do and where to start. Please help me.Thanks
NG, none of my itineraries fit your dates. Suggest you get my book The easy Guide to Your First Walt Disney World Visit and focus on the material in the beginning and end of Chapter 6.
Your site is amazing–it is helping me plan our first Disney experience with a kiddo. Since we’ll be taking our almost 3 year old in April, I know we’ll be focusing a lot on character experiences at Magic Kingdom. I am following the wait times on the official Disney App, but that doesn’t seem to include character experiences. Is there any way to know how long wait times typically are at character experiences (meet and greets?)–especially those that do not have Fast Pass?
Thanks for your thoughts!
Lauren
Hi Lauren, see the very end of Josh’s cheat sheets, e.g. this http://www.easywdw.com/cheatsheets/mk_cheatsheet.pdf The full set of sheets is here: http://www.easywdw.com/category/cheat-sheets/
Hi we are planning over first to Disney world in December I have 15 year old boy and 12 year old girl . Is there any suggestions for me?
Jas, start at the home page and work your way through its topics!
We are going to WDW June 5-10. How do I make the itineraries match my days? Do I just start in Tuesday and go to the next week for the rest of the days? THanks!!
Hi Nevia, my itineraires don’t work well for shorter trips. Let me know the ages of any kids you have and I will advise on park days. You can then use the one and two day touring plans in my book for your daily guidance.
