Magic Kingdom Day 2 Disney World Multi Pass Itinerary with Tiana

By Dave Shute

(Note: this is from the Disney World Multi Pass Itinerary with Tiana.)

MAGIC KINGDOM DAY 2: THURSDAY AGENDA

Today you continue your visit to Magic Kingdom after a late breakfast at Chef Mickey’s.

You should have prebooked

  • A Lightning Lane Tier 1 Multi Pass (LLMP) for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 11a, and
  • LLMP Tier 2 for the Tomorrowland Speedway at 4.30p, and it’s a small world at 5.30p.

Your day begins in Magic Kingdom with a visit to Big Thunder, has you headed to the Contemporary Resort for a late breakfast at Chef Mickey’s in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, right next to Magic Kingdom. After Chef Mickey’s, you will then pursue a mix of mostly lower-key experiences in Magic Kingdom.

A key attraction this afternoon  will be the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Usually at 3p, sometimes it starts at 2p instead. You’ll need to double check the schedule and move things around so that you are free from 30 minutes before the start (to find a spot)  to 30 minutes after.

Moreover, you have optional time before and after the end of your formal schedule to meet with characters at Magic Kingdom, and/or tour the nearby resorts.

My itineraries build character meetings into dining. Characters expected to be available in various dining experiences you should have reserved include Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Belle, Tiana, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Ariel.

But there are additional character meeting opportunities at Magic Kingdom if you wish to pursue them.

These include formal attractions—in Fantasyland, Meet Ariel at Her Grotto, Meet Cinderella and a Visiting Princess (usually Elena of Avalor), Meet Princess Tiana and a Visiting Princess (usually Rapunzel) and in Main Street USA Meet Mickey, and many other formal and less formal character meeting opportunities scattered through the park. You can take time before and after your “standard” time to pursue these meetings.

Another optional fun activity would be touring the nearby deluxe resorts–especially the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, accessed via the Resort Monorail or walking, and the Wilderness Lodge, accessible via boat.

For simplicity, the rest of this itinerary assumes you are not pursuing the optional character meets or resort tours noted above.

AT THE PARK

Arrive at Magic Kingdom by 10.45a and make your way to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  Ride it using you LLMP.

Leave the park, and either walk or take the Resort Monorail to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and enjoy a late breakfast there.

Return to Magic Kingdom either by walking or the Resort Monorail.

Depending on the start time of the afternoon parade, either

  • If the parade is at 2p, find a spot to watch the parade, then after the parade ride the Walt Disney World Railroad, taking it all the way around the park, or
  • If the parade is at 3p, ride the Walt Disney World Railroad, taking it all the way around the park, theh find a spot to watch the parade

Next, see Tom Sawyer Island, accessible by rafts near Country Bears. Usually open in the middle of the day—e.g. from 11a to 4.30p. This is an unstructured land to explore, not a defined attraction with a beginning, middle and end. Depending on how it piques the interest of your group, and how much you simply need to run around and be unstructured, it could reward a visit (include waits for the rafts back and forth) of 45 minutes to 90 minutes.

Head to Tomorrowland and see the Tomorrowland Speedway using your LLMP.

See Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress.

If you have time before your LLMP for its a small world expires, ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

See it’s a small world using your LLMP.

Rode the PeopleMover if you haven’t already.
