Suggestions on the Disney World Autumn-Winter-Spring Itinerary
DISNEY WORLD ITINERARY HELP
I get lots of helpful comments and mail—for example see this.
Rarely, however, does a user of the site submit a detailed critique.
David G recently provided one.
Stuff like what David wrote is incredibly helpful in improving this site, so thanks!
David used the Autumn-Winter-Spring Itinerary.
His thoughts on it are below; my responses are inset in parentheses and italics.
DAVID’S EMAIL ABOUT THE DISNEY WORLD AUTUMN WINTER SPRING ITINERARY
Firstly, thank you for a great website which really helped in making a fantastic holiday.
(You are welcome! And thank you for the detailed comments, which are incredibly helpful in improving the site!!)
The best part of your advice for me was ensuring that we planned and booked well in advance and highlighting what to see/where to eat etc. Disney World is very complicated for the first time visitor and therefore it is very helpful to have someone steer you through it all. We used your itinerary to direct where we went every day but used the Unofficial Guide Touring Plans to work out how we moved around the parks when we got in. The combination of the two worked very well.
(While I’m satisfied with the day by day plans in my itineraries, TouringPlans.com‘s park itineraries are the best in the business. The key difference is that mine are integrated over an entire 8 night trip, whereas theirs mostly relate to single parks.)
A few specific comments I would make are as follows: [Read more →]

Seven Night Walt Disney World Summer Itinerary v2
SEVEN NIGHT WALT DISNEY WORLD SUMMER ITINERARY
Update: this itinerary will not work for June 2014, and I don’t know yet if it will work for July or August 2014.
Instead of it, use this.
This Walt Disney World itinerary is based on the eight-night Summer Itinerary, but is one night shorter.
It is designed for the incredibly busy weeks from late May to mid-August, and for most other high-crowd periods (Christmas week, Easter Week, etc.)
The 8-night Summer itinerary itself is jam-packed; this 7 night version, which I don’t recommend but provide due to popular demand, is even more strenuous.

New Summer Itinerary for Walt Disney World Released
NEW DISNEY WORLD SUMMER ITINERARY
The other day I released a new Summer Itinerary for Walt Disney World (click the image for a summary).
The new itinerary was forced by the recently released Walt Disney World June calendar.
This calendar showed a different pattern of Extra Magic Hours than in years past.
The required re-write also gave me the opportunity to reconsider a couple of things that were not as good as they could be.
The overall impact is a new summer itinerary that’s a little simpler, a little less demanding, and a little less expensive. [Read more →]

Update: this itinerary DOES NOT WORK for the summer of 2014. See the links here for new itineraries for June-August 2014!

This 8 night itinerary is for most of the incredibly busy weeks from late May to mid-August.
It also works during other very busy times–e.g. Christmas, New Years, and Easter week. [Read more →]

Which Days at Which Park at Walt Disney World?
SCHEDULE OF WHICH DAYS TO VISIT WHICH PARKS
While working on a recent post about TouringPlans.com‘s updated daily calendar, I realized that while I had advice on which park to go to when here and here, and of course built in to the design of this site’s core itineraries, I hadn’t brought it together into one place.
So here we go! [Read more →]

HITTING THE WALL AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
Say you are following this site’s summer itinerary, and tomorrow is Wednesday.
You’ve had a wonderful time so far…but are starting to hit the wall. Tomorrow is another early morning…and you don’t want to get up.
It’s another scheduled sit-down dinner…and even though you are on the dining plan, and probably won’t be able to use the left-over sit-down credit, you just don’t want to be scheduled.
You are thinking a sandwich and margarita by the pool, at exactly the time you choose, will do just fine.
Your family is showing signs of strain, too.
Everything’s going great so far, but the whining is starting to grow, and the itinerary is beginning to be viewed as the enemy.
But you’ve spent all this money, and you can’t get any of it back. What do you do?
