NEW DISNEY WORLD DEAL FOR FALL 2023

Walt Disney World has released a set of discounts on its hotel rooms for the general public that go from early October 2023 through Christmas.

These discounts, some with very attractive savings, further break down into three periods:

• From October 2 through November 18: a 10% to 25% off deal applies only to most Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights—not Friday or Saturday nights
• From November 19 through December 9: a 10% to 25% off deal includes all days of the week–that is, Fridays and Saturdays as well, for “most nights”
• From December 9 through December 25: the deal increases to 15% to 30% off, and includes all days of the week for “most nights”

In general, higher discounts are available at properties where capacity is high compared to demand, especially those with higher prices, and lower discounts are available where capacity and demand better match up.

At the same time Disney released similar but potentially even better deals for those who are Disney+ members and for Annual Passholders. Click the links for more on those specific deals, and for Disney’s page on the deal available to the general public, see this.

DISNEY WORLD RESORT HOTELS WITH DISCOUNTS OF 25% TO 30%

The highest discounts are at a group of hotels largely in the deluxe and Disney Vacation Club groups, but also in this group are Family Suites at the value resort Art of Animation:

Three of Disney World’s five moderate resorts are in this group with the next highest savings:

Walt Disney World has released a new set of discounts off of its standard hotel room rates, some quite substantial, for “most nights” July 11 through September 28, 2023.

There’s four sets of discounts that range from 10% off to 25-30% off, and most of the sets have two discounts in each, the lower of the two for most of the period, and the higher discount during the traditionally slow times at the beginning of the fall semester, August 21 through September 14.

SAVINGS OF 25% TO 30% AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

Substantial savings in this group apply to many deluxe resorts, some DVC resorts, and moderate resort Coronado Springs (this is a VERY nice price on Coronado Springs…):

SAVINGS OF 20% TO 25% AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

Pretty good savings in this group apply to several moderates, and also to the Family Suites at the value Art of Animation, one of two room types there:

SAVINGS OF 15% TO 20% AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

These savings apply to the rest of the value resorts, and also to the Epcot deluxes Beach Club and Yacht Club. Note that the almost equally fine (though seeing construction) Epcot deluxe BoardWalk Inn is in the 25-30% off group:

The lowest savings are available at a mix of resorts where supply and demand seem enough in balance that Disney does not need much to discount:

DISNEY WORLD’S DINING PROMO CARD DEAL

Disney World has announced a new dining deal that covers most nights this summer from June 25, 2023 through September 14, 2023.

The deal works by offering a virtual or real “Dining Promo Card” which can be used at most Disney-owned table service and quick-service restaurants and, since you need to eat anyway, thus represents a savings on what you’d otherwise spend on a Disney World visit.

The value of the amount placed on your “Dining Promo Card” is a function of how many nights you stay, where you stay, and which nights you stay. A minimum four night stay is required to get the deal.

The amount placed on your “Dining Promo Card” per night varies from $35/night to $150/night. The higher amounts are restricted to the more expensive Disney World hotel rooms, and in all cases savings are lower June 25-June 30 and July 11 through July 31.

DISNEY WORLD DINING VALUE OF $125 – $150 PER NIGHT

Values of $125-$150 per night are available at many of Disney’s DVC resorts…

…and also all of Disney’s Deluxe resorts.

DISNEY WORLD DINING VALUE OF $75 – $100 PER NIGHT

Values of $75-$100 per night are available at all of Disney World’s Moderate resorts.

DISNEY WORLD DINING VALUE OF $35 – $50 PER NIGHT

Values of $35-$50 per night are available at all of Disney World’s Value resorts.

BOOKING THIS NEW DISNEY WORLD DEAL

Availability is limited, and in the past, at any given resort the lowest-priced rooms have been particularly
hard to book.

NEW DISNEY WORLD DISCOUNT

Disney World has announced a new room rate deal that covers most nights from March 1, 2023 through July 10 2023—although the period April 1-9 is explicitly excluded.

Discounts available range from 10% off per night to 25% off per night, compared to posted “rack” rates.

The discounts are largely grouped into two periods, with lower discounts in March and higher discounts for the April – early July eligible dates.

Generally, higher discounts are available for more expensive Disney World hotels, and lower for less expensive ones, but there are some exceptions.

DISNEY WORLD ROOM RATE DEALS FOR 20-25% OFF

Savings of 20-25% per night are available at seven of Disney’s eight Deluxe resorts, and six of its DVC resorts. You’ll find the other deluxe, and a couple more DVC resorts, in the “10-15%” group.

DISNEY WORLD ROOM RATE DEALS FOR 15-20% OFF

Savings of 15-20% per night are available at all of Disney World’s Moderate resorts.

DISNEY WORLD ROOM RATE DEALS FOR 10-15% OFF

Savings of 10-15% per night are available at all of Disney’s Value resorts, and also at Deluxe Contemporary Resort and DVC resorts Bay Lake Tower, Kidani Village, and the Villas at the Grand Floridian.

DISNEY WORLD ROOM RATE DEALS FOR 10% OFF

The Campsites at Fort Wilderness are in the deal at 10% off (the Cabins at the Fort are moderates, and join the rest of the moderates at 15-20% off).

Walt Disney World earlier this week announced the first discount available to the general public in months.

The new Disney World deal offers $20/night, $40/night, or $100/night discounts off of standard (“rack”) rates for a subset of Disney World hotels for various nights beginning December 11, 2022, and continuing through March 30, 2023.

• From December 11, 2022, through December 25, 2022, it covers “most nights.”
• It then goes away, returning in a diminished way on January 2. From January 2 through February 28, 2022, it covers ONLY “most Sunday through Thursday nights.”
• March 1 through March 30 it returns to covering “most nights,” without the Friday and Saturday exclusions present in January and February.

The offer requires the purchase of not just rooms but tickets as well, and has a minimum stay of two nights and a maximum of 14. (Note—any website calling this a “save up to $400” offer is not very good at this sort of thing, as you can save up to $1,400. Disney World promotes this as a “save up to $400 for a four-night stay” but as noted, stays of up to 14 days are permitted.)

Not all hotels are in the deal, and even those that are in it will have limited availability. In recent years, at any given hotel, Disney World typically has made it much easier to book that hotel’s most expensive rooms, driving percentage savings down.

DISNEY RESORTS OFFERING A SAVINGS OF $100 PER NIGHT

All the $100/night savings hotels are deluxes or DVC resorts. Not all of these are in the deal.

DISNEY RESORTS OFFERING A SAVINGS OF $40 PER NIGHT

All of Disney World’s moderate resorts are in the deal at $40/night off, as are Family Suites at value resort Art of Animation.

DISNEY RESORTS OFFERING A SAVINGS OF $20 PER NIGHT

Value resort standard rooms in the deal are at $20/night off, except for standard Little Mermaid rooms in Art of Animation, which as usual are not in the deal at all.

A few final thoughts:

Other deals are out during the same period but not for the general population. The one that likely has the highest overlap is a deal out for Disney+ subscribers. A good travel agent, such as my friends at Destinations in Florida (see the contact form below) can sort through your options, if you have any, and recommend and then book the best deal for you.

This deal has its complexities, but at the highest level it has the simplest presentation of any recent Disney World deal I’ve seen.

For example, rather than quoting percentage discounts, it quotes dollars per night discounts, perhaps recognizing—as proven throughout the pandemic—that most can’t do math. Moreover, rather than grouping hotels in its offer by class (e.g., separate sections for deluxes, DVCs, moderates and values), the offer groups them by discount level, meaning that you don’t have to know what Disney World’s resort classes are before you can interpret the deal.

DISNEY WORLD DEAL FOR MOST DATES MARCH 6 THROUGH JULY 7, 2022

Walt Disney World has announced a room rate deal for some of its resort hotels covering “most nights” March 6 through July 7, 2022.

In a departure from how such deals used to work, savings are a flat amount per night. The minimum stay is one night, the maximum is 14. Even if a hotel is listed in the deal, not all room types or lengths of stay will be available under the deal, availability will be limited, and if things go the way they used to, the least expensive rooms at a listed hotel will be the hardest to find deals for.

There are three levels of discounts–$100 a night off, $40 a night off, and $20 a night off. Compared to the lowest cost rooms in the hotels listed as being in the deals, savings are about 17-23% in the $100/night off deals, 12-16% in the $40/night deals, and 9-14% in the $20/night deals. The other listed hotels will generally show lower savings, as will higher-priced rooms in the lowest-cost hotels.

The Disney World hotels eligible for $100 off a night are a mix of Disney Vacation Club offerings and deluxes:

The Disney World hotels eligible for $40 a night off are the moderates except Caribbean Beach, and Family Suites at Art of Animation (regular Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation are not in the deal at all):
