First Impression of Standard (Little Mermaid) Rooms at Art of Animation

By Dave Shute

I’ve just checked in to my standard room in Art of Animation’s Little Mermaid section.

A full review will start soon, but I wanted to get a first impression out, and am too shy for live-blogging.

So I thought I’d send you all a postcard…

Thanks Dave for the coffee maker heads up…I have been in a caffiene deprived tailspin after finding this out. Maybe they will take pity on us (or for the sake of my husband & kids) and allow us to borrow one from the AoA suites. It will be our first impression of Disney and so far I am already disappointed that they don’t offer coffee makers. The fridges in all Values are such a great bonus. Just about every hotel chain in the USA offers a coffee makers on the sink vanity so it is a surprise that they wouldn’t start to make it standard in all the WDW Resort rooms. Might have to bring one with us and just leave it to make room for souvenirs!

Can’t wait to read the full review! I have been scouring the web since Saturday to see what other guests thought and it has been mostly positive.

Hi Joanne! I’m with you on the coffeemaker point…and my bet is we’ll see them one of these days but not in time for your trip! In the meantime, refillable mugs and coffee at Animation Hall are your salvation…see https://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/08/10/refillable-mugs-at-walt-disney-world/

Looking forward to reading more details.. we are staying there during the last week in February. My questions (if you have time) are the following:
1) of the 3 Little Mermaid Building which one would you recommend, any particular room or section, a ground floor room?
2) Can you fit a gallon of milk in the fridge?
3) Are you getting good wifi connectivity?
4) Any comments or tips on the bus system?

Thanks for the great website and enjoy your time at Disney.

Hi Ginette, I’ll cover all these in the reviews that will be coming starting Sunday!
