    Hello!

Thank you for your tremendously detailed website! I’ve found it sooo helpful! I’m hoping for one piece of advice.

My husband and I are planning to stay with family in Florida in April 2026 and plan to spend one day at Magic Kingdom (April 9 or 10). We plan to book a hotel room the day before to make use of the pool all day and then enter the park early the next day. I haven’t been to Disney in decades, and my kids have never been. We have 6 kids, the oldest will be 13 and the youngest will be 1. We’re looking at aftermarket DVC locations because we need a two room villa. I am trying to figure out where to stay for the one night, in the place that will provide the best experience overall, especially a great pool for children. Budget is a concern but since it’s only one day, we don’t mind spending a little extra for a memorable experience. (Max of $1500 for a night since it’ll cost us that much again just to enter the park!).

I got the quotes below. Which would you choose, especially taking into account that we’ll spend the entire day at the pool hopefully.

    Thanks so much!!

Animal Kingdom at Kidani Village – 2 Bedroom Villa – Savanna View – $1,196
Animal Kingdom at Kidani Village – 2 Bedroom Villa – Resort View – $920
BRV at Wilderness Lodge – 2 Bedroom Villa – Resort View – $1,242
CCV at Wilderness Lodge – 2 Bedroom Villa – Resort View – $1,288
    Old Key West – 2 Bedroom Villa – $980
Old Key West – 2 Bedroom Villa – Near Hospitality House – $980

      Hi Lina!

Of your three options, by far the best pool is Kidani, and the least is Old Key West. Wilderness Lodge is in the middle. Moreover, as a Kidani guest, you also get to use the also-very-good pool at Jambo House, a short bus ride or medium walk from Kidani. This might make for a fun break, e.g. spend the morning and lunch at Kidani, then check out the pool at Jambo.

There is something magical about the Savanna view rooms. But given your all-day-at-the pool goals, very short stay, and the price difference, I’d take the resort view. There are other places in the hotel from which you can see the animals.

      Hope this helps! Dave

Thank you for a detailed review right after the resort opens. I don’t see a pack and play as well as high chair in the storage closet in your photos. Do I have to request one during check in? I remember they are usually already there at other resorts. A very sturdy step stool was also in our AKV room.
    Thanks.

Noelle, over the years I’ve noted a mixed presence of these, but yes you can always call for them.
