DISNEY WORLD AND TROPICAL STORM ISAAC
We’ve entered the peak of the hurricane season, and Tropical Storm Isaac is currently expected to turn into a (mild) hurricane over the next day or so, but is no longer expected to much threaten Central Florida or Orlando.
Update 8/27: Isaac’s track shifted substantially westward on Sunday.
Under current forecasts, Isaac will largely miss Orlando and Walt Disney World, but will bring rain, wind, and the possibility of tornadoes on Monday, with some rain lasting into Tuesday.
For links on Isaac from the Orlando Sentinel, see this.
For thoughts on how to spend a stormy day at Walt Disney World, see this.
WALT DISNEY WORLD 2012 HURRICANE POLICY
Disney World’s hurricane policy can be found here.
Here’s the key point:
“If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area or for your place of residence no more than 7 days before your scheduled arrival date, you may call in advance to reschedule or cancel your Walt Disney Travel Company Magic Your Way vacation package and most room only reservations (booked directly with Disney) without any cancellation or change fees imposed by Disney.”
(Thanks to Steve at MilitaryDisneyTips.com for making me aware of this policy!!)

I am bring my 9 year old and my 10 month old to disney if i dont get in to orlando and i get bumped looks like disneyland here i come longer flight but better weather for the week rather wohld be in disney world but if it rains the 4 days im there then ill be stuck in the hotel and wont even get into park im not walking around wigh wet baby.
Wishing everyone the best of luck for the next week! 🙂 We are not arriving until the 8th, but I still worry about the potential for another one to move in shortly after Issac. BUT, we will not cancel even if it did. We are driving and figure ponchos will get us through! We have been planning this, our 17th Anniversary trip without the kids, since March, so wind, rain or shine we are there! lol 😉
Fingers crossed, Pals!
