AVATAR LAND AT THE ANIMAL KINGDOM?
News rocketed out that Disney has licensed Avatar and will be adding Avatar-themed material to the Animal Kingdom theme park.
The most details are at Mouseplanet.com.
Jim Hill has the best background and inside material here.
You’ll find skepticism anywhere you look–Mike Thomas’s Orlando Sentinel commentary captures much of it. (The word “sad” in the online title does not show up in the Kindle title…curious…)

Hi Linda!
Overall your days look fine.
For daily itineraries you can use a couple from my Autumn-Winter-Spring Itinerary: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/basic-itinerary/alternative-itineraries/itineraries-for-the-rest-of-the-year/v2-of-2009-autumn-winter-spring-itinerary/ Specifically you can use my Friday/Epcot for your Wednesday, my Monday/Studios (but adding Fantasmic) for Thursday, my the Sunday/AK (skipping Fantasmic) for your Sunday.
MK doesn’t fit my stuff so well, so for that I’d use one of the two-day plans from TouringPlans.com http://touringplans.com/?utm_campaign=referral&utm_medium=website&utm_source=yourfirstvisit&utm_content=r1&property_id=1
Hi Cathy!…I know a lot of people agree with you…I’m more in the “I’d have preferred something else, especially Disney Villains, but am open to the possibility this will be visually spectacular” camp
Avatar is NOT Disney and does not belong in a Disney theme park. When visiting Disney World, we want to see Disney characters, not Avatar or Marvel.
oooops We are arriving Tuesday, 10/18 around 10pm and departing Tuesday, 11/25 late morning. Sorry for my unclear message! Thanks
Hi Linda, I’ll get back to you with some thoughts…but just to double check, you are returning home 11/1? and what time is your flight?
