    Hi

Can you get a mobility scooter on the shuttles and is there a hire company that we could use

Steve, my recollection from my last trip is no, but I would recommend calling the hotel you are interested in to see if my recollection is correct, and if they recommend an alternative. They may also be able to suggest scooter hire companies. Disney themselves recommends ScooterBug (see https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/ecv-rentals/)

Dave, Thanks for all the great information. I was wondering how you found the bus service from the Disney springs hotels in combination with AM EMH. With all the time it takes to get from the hotel to the parks, do you get to AM EMH with enough time to get through security and have a good spot for when they start to let you in or do you have a long line and waste most of the AM EMH getting through the gate.

Hi Loren, when I was there the EMH was fine.

Hi Dave! This post was AMAING! Thank you for the thorough review. We currently have a trip booked at the DoubleTree so I read your review on that property as well.

After reading through yours as well as dozens of reviews I have mainly seen negative comments on unreliability and slow service that is typically an hour wait for a bus to arrive. We have booked this property and are thrilled to be going here as it has large suites for my family and we booked it under an unreal corporate rate…but am questioning if I can trust the shuttles and if they are doable with a family of 4. Since parking costs so much at this property + renting a car + parking at Disney is far more than we intend to spend, if that is the case we will switch hotels…which I really don’t want to do as I currently booked FPs on EMH days and a suite is hard to find. I’m happy to do Uber, but in needing two car seats that won’t be cheap either…

I would appreciate any feedback, thank you so much for any intel =)

Holly, much of a matter like this is how you set your expectations and plan (including both late arrivals and travel time) around them. E.g. if the bus is supposed to show up at 11, set your plans so that you will still be ok if it shows up at 11.30. So if it is on time, you get a gift; if it is late, your plans are not harmed.

As you note, your back up plan if even if after this would be uber/lyft/DIsney’s Minnie Van service or deciding later in your stay that renting a car is worth it after all. The basic issue is the tradeoff of your time versus your money. I think of a rental car as basically having anet cost of about $100 a day–about 50 for the car, and the other 50 for parking (prices vary by demand of course–and may be higher for you because of the car seats. To me, that tradeoff is always worth it, given how much I am already spending on the trip, and marginal value of another hour or two a day to spend in the park, napping, at the pool, goofing off. A rental car also adds certainty–you know when you can leave, it’s when you are ready–and flexibility–you can run to the grocery store, to McDonalds, etc

Hi just wondering about this we in my arms really parents are staying at the Wyndham Garden at Disney springs. So I know we have shuttle service to all the parks what about getting from Walt Disney World park to Disney springs to have dinner there before we go back to our hotel. Can you tell me timing? Will I also have to take the monorail first to get the bus to Disney springs?

Jen, the Wyndham is within walking distance of Disney springs. There is also a bus from the hotel to Disney Springs that runs from late afternoon until last night.

Thanks for what you do Dave.

What’s wrong with me in that I would actually get some enjoyment from sitting at bus stops within Disney World, timing the buses and people watching?
