FASTPASSES at Walt Disney World
OVERVIEW: FASTPASSES AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
(This page is one of a series explicating Walt Disney World lingo, abbreviations, and FAQ for first time family visitors to Walt Disney World.)
Walt Disney World’s FASTPASS system is a benefit that comes built-in for free in all Walt Disney World theme park admission tickets of any type.
Using FASTPASSES greatly reduces your time spent waiting in line for some (but not all!) of Walt Disney World’s most loved—and crowded—rides and attractions.
The FASTPASS system allows you to “make an appointment” with a ride or attraction to come back to it at a later time in the day.
When you come back at that time, you will, after showing your FASTPASS, be directed to a special, shorter waiting line and be able to experience the attraction with almost always less than a fifteen minute wait.
This can save you hours of waiting in line.

Revisions to the Walt Disney World Easter/Summer Itinerary
Because of changes to Walt Disney World’s summer Fantasmic schedule, the Easter/Summer Itinerary no longer works for summer visits.
As a result, I’ve split this itinerary into two.
- The Easter Itinerary is identical to the old Easter/Summer itinerary, and still can be found here with a new name.
- The new Summer Itinerary is here (and its To-Do List is here). The changes in it are minor, and, in particular, its restaurant reservations remain identical to those of the former version.

OVERVIEW: WHEN YOUR HARRY POTTER PLANS NEED TO BE FIRM
If you are simply planning to visit Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter during several of the mornings of a trip otherwise spent at Walt Disney World, you don’t need to worry beyond your Disney timing requirements about when your plans need to be firm.
If you are planning to reserve a night at the Royal Pacific or Cabana Bay,you should do so as soon as your dates are firm.
