We will be traveling with our teenage daughters and two male adults. My husband and I would prefer to sleep on the bed, not a pullout. Is there engouh room to move the 2 single pullouts into the master bedroom so that our daughters and our 2 friends will all be more comfortable when dressed for bed? Could we move the desk and chair into the living area and the 2 pullouts into the bedroom? Would there be enough room when they are pulled out to get to the bathroom, etc.?
The desk may be tied into the wall with computer and phone cabling, for example, and thus not moveable.
You might want to post this question on the All Star Music thread on disboards–you may there discover families who have tried to do exactly what you intend, and get reports on their success and failures. Try this thread, scan thru the answers already on it, and ask yours if it seems not covered already: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1072409
An alternative is to ask for two adjacent rooms, connecting if possible, adjoining if not. no guarantees that you will be in fact near each other–tho Disney will do its best for you, and this is all easier to pull off if you go during a quieter time when they have more available rooms to play with.
This solution, even if you are separated, gives you four full beds in two 2 bed private spaces, at the loss of the microwave and the “living room.” (Note that you could ask for this at any value resort–Music is no longer the constraint.)
We are taking our 3 grown daughters, 2 husbands, and 1 eleven yr. old grandson to Disneyworld the last week in June. We haven’t been in 15 yrs! We are paying for the whole trip and hope to do it without borrowing money….lol. We will arrive on Sunday, June 26th and check out on the 30th. I would like to have 4 different rooms, yet very close together so each family can have their own space to get away from each other for a while. We also want the park hopper passes and the meal deal. Please send your suggestions. 3 of us have knee problems and close would be nice if possible.
I can’t really advise you without knowing if you are looking for for deluxe, moderate, or value priced rooms. In late June, these will cost per room per night inlcuding tax on the order of $450, $225, or $150.
If you are looking for deluxe rooms, there are better options than reserving 4…
We are taking my daughter, son-in-law with twin girls age 4, two female babysitters ages 22 and 25, plus my husband and me70+ sometime in late April 2012 for 4 nights. ((Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun) We would like to stay in the Polynesian Resort. Would 3 rooms be the best deal or a suite for 6 plus a room for two.
But either of those approaches is way more expensive than some great alternatives–e.g. a two-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower. You and your husband would be in one bedroom, your daughter’s family in the other, and the babysitters would sleep in the combined living/dining/kitchen space.
If this is “too much” closeness, you could add a BLT studio for the babysitters to the two-bedroom for you and your daughter’s family, and still come out ahead with a much more livable and compact arrangement… at about the same price as the Poly options…

Hi Susan!
the short answer is that I’m not sure.
The desk may be tied into the wall with computer and phone cabling, for example, and thus not moveable.

Hi Joyce! What a wonderful trip you have planned!
Three rooms at the Poly would be likely a little cheaper than a suite and a room, depending on the suite–see this and its links http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2012.html
But either of those approaches is way more expensive than some great alternatives–e.g. a two-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower. You and your husband would be in one bedroom, your daughter’s family in the other, and the babysitters would sleep in the combined living/dining/kitchen space.

For Bay Lake Tower see this: http://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/09/13/review-bay-lake-tower-at-disneys-contemporary-resort/ and for the difference between villas and suites see this: http://yourfirstvisit.net/2009/12/28/the-most-comfortable-place-to-stay-at-walt-disney-world-1-the-options/
Let me know more about why you are looking at the Poly and I’ll come up with other ideas!
Hope this helps, Dave
