The 2013 Disney World Week Picker is Out!

THE BEST WEEK OF 2013, TAILORED TO YOUR FAMILY’S PREFERENCES

Last week, the 2013 edition of one of this site’s most popular offerings came out–the 2013 Walt Disney World Week Picker.

The Week Picker is an alternative to this site’s 2013 Weeks to Visit Walt Disney World, Ranked in Order.

It’s particularly suited for returning visitors and for first-time visitors who weigh crowds, prices, ride closures, the hurricane season, or other weather factors differently than do the week rankings (which are built for the average family of first time visitors who may never return).
You all have proven over the years that you really like the week picker--it’s been written about in guidebooks and on tons of websites, and the 2012 version has had more than 200,000 views.

This is good, as it’s a massive pain to create, needs to be done in a compressed time period, and when it’s published, may annoy Google’s “Panda” standards.

Crafting the week picker requires

• Doing almost 400 separate analyses
• Converting these analyses into images
• Building 128 results pages with these images
• Crafting another 40 or so pages encoded with the logic of the picker
• Etc., etc…

Because of the work involved, I don’t do a draft version of the picker, and work on it only after the final price seasons and crowd calendars are out–which means, for the picker to be most useful, all this has to be done in less than a month.

Then, when it’s done, the results pages look just like the material that Google’s “Panda” was built to deprecate…so Google may like this site less after the picker is done…

But so long as hundreds of thousands of you use it, all this is well worth it!
