OVERVIEW: FEBRUARY 2016 AT DISNEY WORLD
This page reviews February 2016 Walt Disney World crowds, prices, deals and discounts, weather, and operating hours; adds a few other notes; and ends with week by week summaries.
Early February 2016 will have some of the lowest crowds and prices of the year, but also the risk of ride closures.
The end of the month brings slightly higher prices and crowds, but better weather and few closures.
In between–the period from Thursday the 11th through Sunday the 21st–we will see high crowds and high prices.
FEBRUARY 2016 CROWDS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
Earlier February is among the lowest crowd periods of the year.
From a combination of a dance competition, President’s Day (many northeastern school weeks have the whole week off), and a running event, crowds will be high from Thursday the 11th through Sunday the 21st.
Crowds will settle down after the 21st to low levels until the spring break crowds begin March 5.
On a crowd scale of 1-11, the week beginning 1/30 has a ranking of 1/lowest; the week beginning 2/6, a ranking of 5/moderate minus (lower earlier in the week, higher later); 2/13 10/higher; 2/20 4/low-plus.

FEBRUARY 2016 WEATHER AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
February weather is cooler and variable.
Typical temperatures warm up over the course of the month, but variability remains high.
Cold or rainy days—not uncommon—are great for first time visitors, as they reduce the crowds in the parks and make the rides easier to see with low waits.
Returning visitors looking for good days to lounge around the pool should not count on many.
Tornadoes can be an issue during this period. Â See this.

OTHER NOTES AND COMMENTS ON FEBRUARY 2016 AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
January and, to a lesser extent, early February are the most common periods for rides to be closed for refurbishment.
This makes the early part of February less good for first time visitors who do not know if they will return—why go when the chances of missing something great are high?
FEBRUARY 2016 OPERATING HOURS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
Park operating hours vary by the day, and sometimes change without notice. It is rare for hours to be shorter than Disney has publicized, but Disney may lengthen them in response to unanticipated crowds.
The best way to keep up with operating hours is to check Disney’s official calendars, usually available six months in advance.

Hi Dave, love your site. Well done. Especially all the metrics and data you collected and analyze. But also the forecast information. Nice idea. I do have a German speaking Florida Blog (http://www.floridaguru.de) and wanted to know, if I can link to your great site and if I can put your forecast graph 2016 to my homepage? Of course, with a link to your site. Sure, can really recommend your site.
Emily, if you get a courtyard view room at WL, the construction should not matter much.
No bunk beds at the Poly, but the rooms there do sleep 5–on two queens and a six foot long daybed. Poly construction in the East Pool area may continue into Feb–it’s not really clear, as the word is “early 2016.” Avoiding the east side longhouses Raratonga, Niue, Samoa, and south facing rooms in Hawaii should limit your exposure to it.
Maybe I should move this to a different thread, but now i see Wilderness Lodge is going to start a refurbishment going through 2017. Curious now if the Polynesian is expected to be complete by 2/16 or if there will still be construction work going on? (And are bunk beds available there?)
Thanks! I’m eyeing wilderness lodge for this trip so good to know they have the bunk beds!
Emily, I ‘m so glad to have helped! The marathon has little impact on the parks, so don’t let that be a concern.
Besides AK, you’ll find bunks at the Wilderness Lodge, at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, and at the Treehouse Villas.
In addition, many deluxes and a few moderate resorts offer a third sleeping spot, typically a daybed or murphy bed of some sort that functions as a couch in the daytime.
