MORE ON DISNEY’S YACHT CLUB RESORT
There are currently 8 official Disney owned and operated deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World. In their recommended order for first time family visitors, they are
Many of these also offer Disney Vacation Club (“DVC”) studios and villas, all for rent to the general public–see this for more on the Disney Vacation Club resorts. The Yacht Club has no DVC offering, but next door sister resort the Beach Club offers the Beach Club Villas.
You enter the Yacht Club into a two story lobby where you’ll find check-in and concierge services.
There’s a light nautical theming here, including fun ship models.
Dining is all at the side towards the Beach Club (part of the same massive interconnected building). You’ll find here the great (but expensive) Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Also in this area is the simpler, less expensive, and more family- (and wallet-) friendly Captain’s Grille.

The Beach Club has two more table-service options, the fun Beaches and Cream and the Cape May Cafe with a character breakfast.
There’s a couple of bars at the Yacht Club as well. One right off the lobby also serves coffee, pastries and such in the morning, convenient for conventioneers heading to or returning from the shared Yacht Club/Beach Club convention center. This little offering is a godsend given that there’s no counter service here, and hardly any counter service in the Beach Club.
(The Beach Club counter service offering is tucked in the back of its gift shop.
On my last visit, the lunch/dinner menu had turkey, ham and roast beef sandwiches; a vegetable wrap; individual cheese or pepperoni flatbreads; Caesar salad; and soup. That’s it.)
The lobby bar has some nice nautical details.
The larger bar is down the hall closer to the Yachtsman Steakhouse.
The Yacht Club has its own gift shop, near the lobby beyond the elevators.
As in the Beach Club, the shop is fronted by fun window displays.
Outside the lobby on the left you’ll find the bus stop, with shared buses to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.
The Yacht and Beach Club are nestled together along Crescent Lake. Sensibly (though it took me years to note the correlation with themes…), the beach that they share fronts the Beach Club, and the marina and boat dock they share fronts the Yacht Club.
Boat service will take you to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
You can also rent boats for play at the marina in this area.
On the outdoor walkway to the Beach Club you’ll find this workout room and mini-spa.
Lovely beaches are on the Beach Club side of the complex, nearer Epcot.
On the beach you’ll also find a firepit for early evening s’mores…
There’s also three quiet pools in the complex. One is a hike–at the far end of the Beach Club–and not worth the walk.
Another–and the best–is back by the Beach Club Villas, convenient only if you are heading to the Beach Club anyway–e.g. to get lunch.
The third is at the far corner of the Yacht Club, and makes sense only if it’s near your room…
…or if you want to play tennis.
But most people, when they think of pools at the Yacht Club, think of Stormalong Bay.
