PHOTO TOUR OF A STANDARD ROOM AT DISNEY’S WILDERNESS LODGE
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge standard rooms–like those at the Animal Kingdom Lodge–are distinctive for sleeping only four, and for the overall small size of the sleeping area.
See the floor plan. Most other Disney World standard room deluxe sleeping spaces are longer and wider, and have a couch in the lower left that provides the fifth sleeping spot.
As you enter the room, there’s a bath on one side and the closet and the coffee maker and mini-fridge on the other.
The bath is divided into two areas, starting with these double sinks…
…and then a toilet and tub/shower combo behind a door.
On the other side of the entry hall, there’s a coffee maker and mini-fridge, with a couple of drawers above the mini-fridge…
…that are larger than they look.
Here’s the inside of the fridge with scaling objects.
The closet is good-sized, with two sliding doors. Here’s it open–you can see half of it. Note the ironing board and luggage rack.
Deeper into the room you’ll find in most Wilderness Lodge standard rooms two queen beds on one side.
Here’s the beds from the other corner.
Some of these bedrooms have kings, and–rare among Disney resorts–others have one queen and a pair of bunk beds. The bunk mattresses are about 5′ 9″ so are best for kids.
The other side of the room has the TV, dresser, and a table and two chairs.
The dresser is large, has three drawers…
…and plenty of storage.
Here’s the table and chairs, with a mirror above. There’s a rule somewhere about in what rooms these tables are round, and in which they are square. I haven’t found it yet.
At the end of the room is the balcony.
Here’s the view from my balcony–what Disney calls a “Woods View.” Woods views are less expensive than “Courtyard Views” and more Wildernessy.
For a hotel so stunningly decorated with objects and art in its public spaces, the rooms are pretty spare.
Higher on the page you can see some minor decoration in the bath.
These nice carvings decorate the headboards…
…and you’ll find this minor print on the wall by the bath.
But that’s pretty much it.
These rooms are small and spare. The glory of staying at the Wilderness Lodge is outside the rooms.

Linda, see this: http://blog.touringplans.com/2014/02/27/get-know-safe-disney-world-hotel-room/
Do you know the size of the wall safe in the rooms? We are thinking of taking iPad but not to parks so need to know if it will fit in the safe. Thanks, Linda
