PHOTO TOUR OF THE MASTER BEDROOM AND MASTER BATH IN THE VILLAS AT THE GRAND FLORIDIAN
The master bedroom has two entrances–one from the living room, and one from the divided master bath. See the floor plan below.
The result is that
- Those sleeping in the living area can use the master bath without entering the master bedroom (unlike in other recent DVC designs, there’s no third bath aimed at those in the living room), and
- Those in the master bedroom can exit the master space without interrupting sleeping people in the living area.
The master bedroom is large, but other than having tons of storage space, is not otherwise exceptional.
One side has a king bed and an easy chair.
On the other side you’ll find a dresser with a TV on top, and a desk.
Here’s a closer view of the desk. The art above was the only reference to Mary Poppins in our room. I’ve seen photos of other rooms on the web with a few more Mary Poppins references–but even those added posters and such are too subtle to really call these rooms “Mary Poppins-themed.”
The dresser is quite large, with an astonishing 9 drawers.
In the back corner is an enormous closet, for anything that won’t fit in the nine drawers!
Accessed through sliding doors is the first part of the divided bath, with a sink on one side…
…and a charming spa tub on the other. The air jets of the tub are subtle–they aren’t large nozzles on the sides, but rather small holes in the bottom.
I found this odd at first–a tad too bidet-like–but got over my philistinism and ended up quite enjoying it! But the air jets then fired off and on randomly–with no water in the tub, nor any new buttons pushed–for an hour after my trial.
So maybe the tub found me odd in turn…
The other half of the divided bath has another sink…
At almost 30 square feet, the shower is enormous. You could clean every single moderate Democrat and moderate Republican in the Senate simultaneously in here–and maybe you should.
As noted, there’s a second door to this part of the divided bath that leads to a hall and eventually the rest of the spaces.
In this back hall you’ll find the laundry…
…and also a small closet, the only one near the entry to the room, and the only one easily available to those sleeping in the living room.

Thanks Bob! It’s good to know the tub doesn’t hate me!
The jets firing off in the tub are a sanitation thing. Unlike a jetted tub (whirlpool) where you aren’t supposed to use soaps or bubble bath, you can in one of these. To prevent mold/mildew from forming in the “pipes” it blasts air through them for awhile after you drain it to dry them out.
