April 2020 at Walt Disney World

April   May   June    July   August   September   October

Walt Disney World is closed until further notice. I can’t imagine it re-opening in April…

WHAT IS APRIL LIKE AT DISNEY WORLD?

Late April is usually a fine time to go to Disney World, but the earlier parts of the month commonly see high prices and high crowds, depending on the timing of Easter (and its effects on spring breaks).

April 2020 sees prices and crowds are typically rough until the Sunday after Easter.

WHAT IS MARCH LIKE AT DISNEY WORLD?

Early March can be a great time to go to Disney World, and is so in 2020. The rest of the month will mostly be lousy–with high prices and high crowds.

February 2020 at Walt Disney World

February   March   April   May   June   July   August   September

WHAT IS FEBRUARY LIKE AT DISNEY WORLD?

Early February 2020 will have some of the lowest crowds and prices of the year, but also the risk of ride closures.

The very end of the month brings slightly higher prices and crowds, but better weather and few closures.

In between–in 2020 the period from Thursday the 13th of February through Saturday the 22nd–we will see high crowds and high prices.

January 2020 at Walt Disney World

January   February   March   April    May   June   July   August

WHAT IS JANUARY LIKE AT DISNEY WORLD?

Early January 2020 at Disney World will be dominated by holiday crowds and higher prices, but after the 5th, most days will see lower crowds and lower prices–with upticks around the marathon and the Martin Luther King Day three day holiday weekend.  Because of the Festival of the Arts, which will be returning in 2020, Epcot’s International Showcase can be busy most of the month, and especially on weekends and evenings.

January is not recommended for first-time visitors who may never return, because of ride closures. For returning visitors–and first timers who know they can return–after the first week, January is usually a great time to visit, with low crowds and low prices. If you can, visit after Martin Luther King Day–January 20 in 2020.

December 2019 at Walt Disney World

December    January   February   March   April   May   June   July

WHAT IS DECEMBER LIKE AT DISNEY WORLD?

Early December, with lower crowds, lower prices, and wonderful Christmas decorations and events, has the best weeks of the year to visit. The December 5, 2019 opening of the second ride at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios may bump crowds up a bit more than I’ve forecast–especially from locals.

Later December has the highest crowds and prices of the year.

Park closings to additional guests are possible in this later December period, as are 8a openings and more morning Extra Magic Hours than other weeks.

December also has a special party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a special evening event–with its own ticket–that has become a family tradition for many, and major New Years Eve celebrations.

November 2019 at Walt Disney World

November   December    January   February   March   April   May   June

WHAT IS NOVEMBER LIKE AT DISNEY WORLD?

Mid-November has some of the best times of the year to visit Disney World, with cooler weather, low crowds, low prices, and fun special events.

Other parts of the month are not so good. Jersey Week, beginning 11/2 in 2019, sees moderate crowds and higher prices at the deluxes. Thanksgiving week, beginning 11/23 in 2019, with high crowds and higher prices than the rest of the month, should be avoided.

Note also that picking the right park to visit each day is critical at this time of the year. See this, and use the comment form below to ask me about your specific dates!
