Hi Dave! My family will be in Disney from 22-28 October 2016. Can you please share which days would be best for each park? I’d like to do at least two days in MK and have one day or down time, maybe a park at night?

Any help would be appreciated??

Leigh, I can, but only after Disney releases its schedule for then which it will do within a couple of weeks. So check back then OK??

Technically spending 3 days at Magic Kingdom and my mind is spinning with possibilities. Fastpass deadline is approaching and I am stuck. Any advice? Priorities? Fantasy land/Tomorrowland Friday because of lunch reservation? Or is that a mistake with EMH?
Sunday 9/18 with 7:30 pm dinner reservations at 1900 Park Fare
Tuesday 9/20 MNSSHP
Friday 9/23 Morning EMH with 12:25 lunch reservations at Be Our Guest
Just so confused!

Erika, take a look at MK days in one of my itineraries for a suggested approach.

Alternatively, there’s more portable itineraries in Chapter 6 of my book.

Hi Dave! Our family will be visiting WDW Dec 2-7 (5 days in the parks). Which two days would be the best for visiting MK? We attended MMCP last year, and we haven’t ruled it out for this year, but we may want to spend our money and time elsewhere since our trip will be shorter. Thanks!

Kerry, the 2nd, the 4th, and the 6th.

Hi Dave!
I am traveling with my active, strong and outgoing 2-year-old son on 12/1-8. Planning to have 1 full day off to go to the beach. Probably won’t be visiting Epcot. Which parks and days do you suggest we visit? What fast-pass? Thank you!

Maria, see this–not a match for your days, but an example–which I have not yet added the FastPass+ too, and need to update a bit (I will before the 60 day mark). There’s little for a 2 year old, so I’d pick what you do based on what the parents want to see! You likely will also find value in the itineraries in my book, some of which are more suitable for younger children (but closer to 5 years than 2)>.

Dave,
Great site! I appreciate the analytical approach to Disney. Nice!

We are really excited to be going to Disney here in a couple weeks. We chose the #1 week based upon your recommendation. We are beginning our trip on 11/27. Despite it being one of the best weeks (or #1 according to your analysis) we have had trouble getting Dining reservations at our preferred locations (ie. Chef Mickey/etc.). Any recommendations? Do spots free up?? Any great restaurant choices for us (5 of us total, 3 boys ages 9/6/2). We like idea of buffets because it is easy and can get these boys full…ha. Thanks for any help you might offer on how to secure our preferred dining….thanks!

Drew

Drew, dining opens up for booking 180 days before, and the most popular venues (character buffets) begin to sell out quickly. That’s why I recommend booking dining 180 days before.

This is true in both lower and higher crowd weeks–as even in lower crowd weeks, there’s more than 100,000 people on property.

Check back as people do cancel–there’s a penalty for not canceling within 24 hours, so continue checking even the day before.

While it’s not that relevant given how close your dates are, my overall recommendations for dining are here. More detailed reviews are in my book.

Have you booked your FastPass+ yet?

13 Drew Martin { 11.19.16 at 4:18 pm }

Yes, we did book FastPass. We also tried to book restaurants, but we only booked about 4 months ago…oh well. Hopefully somethings will open up. We still have some fun ones for kids, but would have loved to do Chef Mickey, but nothing so far. Your matrix is helpful. We will try throughout the coming week. Thanks again for all the advice! Quick follow-up, we are noticing that we are booked at 2 parks on days you don’t recommend, but already have fast passes for some of biggest attractions on those days. Would you recommend going for fast pass rides and then going to a different more optimal park or simply staying where we are….OR….abandoning fast passes in favor of going to optimal parks????

14 Dave { 11.20.16 at 10:46 am }

Drew, stick with your FP+! Just have a good plan for the days, especially if they are morning EMH days! Are you styaing in an EMH eligible resort?

15 Drew Martin { 11.20.16 at 6:55 pm }

Thanks so much. Ok. We will put together our plan. Yes, we are staying at Caribbean Beach Resort.

Would you suggest that the daily itenerary tool is best?? I’ve seen one here on your site, but it seems to suggest that it isn’t best for “slower season”?? Is there a better itinerary matrix on your site for the period we are going (November 27-Dec 2nd)?? Thanks again!!

16 Dave { 11.22.16 at 7:51 am }

Drew, see this and its to-do list. You will not be able to take full advantage of it since your FP+ is so late…
