I have emailed you before. I am second guessing our planned trip during Star wars weekend June 6th to June 12th. I thought well if we are going to spend that much $, it might as well be during something the kids love. It is sooo00 expensive. Any suggestions? Due to the decline in the economy, will DW offer free dinning during this time. I am sure it is a low probability. Fingers crossed. We are staying at Riverside which was cheaper than the value (go figure). We have a family of 5. Plus, my parents will be tagging along and this will be their first time.
Ok here I am again! I as well like your sight however I now have more mixed emotions as to the time I have chosen for our vaca. June is HOT and the crowds are high but not so high plus the rates are about 40% more. If it were you and your children loooooooved Start Wars, would you go during the Star Wars weekend? Are we going to enjoy our-self or will I be second guessing myself following our trip? Also, I have booked dining reservations. If you had to choose between the two which would you go to Sci fi dine in or Coral reef?
There’s so much more to WDW than Star Wars weekend, and there’s still Star Wars stuff at the Studios the rest of the year. So if you can’t hit the earliest May weekend (less expensive, less crowded), then if it were me I’d skip it and go a less expensive and less crowded time of the year. See this: http://yourfirstvisit.net/2009/12/21/the-tightwads-guide-to-when-to-go-to-walt-disney-world/
Disney’s performance is improving with the economy, so unless it hits a downturn I’d not expect free dining in the part of June you are targeting…
Hi Jen, I answered msot of your questions in your earlier comment. Re Sci-Fi vs Coral Reef: kids will like Sci-fi better, parents Coral Reef,
Thanks!! May the force be with us!! LOL Ok so if we cannot change our reservations (mainly due to my moms schedule she needs to give 6mo notice), what advice do you have for our itinerary?? I am planning at this point to go to HS on Friday and Sunday so anything we didn’t see or do on Friday, we can do on Sunday. Are the other parks less crowded when such an event is taking place?
Hi Jen, remind me of your arrival and departure dates…
We are arriving Wed June 6th and Leaving Tuesday June 12th.
There’s a lot of flexibility on those dates, so I’m going to suggest parks to avoid by day: avoid HS the 6th, MK the 7th, MK and Epcot the 8th, AK the 9th, MK the 10th, HS and AK the 11th, and Epcot the 12th… Hope this helps and have a great trip!
Thank you very much!
You bet, and have a great trip!
