MORE ON DISNEY’S ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort officially salutes “classic Disney films—including Disney·Pixar’s Toy Story, Fantasia, The Love Bug, The Mighty Ducks and One Hundred and One Dalmatians…the Toy Story section features a 27-foot-tall bucket of Green Army Men, a 30-foot-tall Woody icon and a 47-foot-tall Buzz Lightyear icon. The buildings are painted in bright colors and covered with playful details and hidden surprises.”

It includes an arrival building called Cinema Hall, where you check in, buy tickets, catch the bus, and find the gift shop, the food court, etc.

Just outside Cinema Hall you will find the main pool, Fantasia Pool. See photo. It’s my favorite among the pools at the values…if for no other reason that it has Mickey!

All-Star Movies has 1920 rooms in ten identical three-story buildings, all with elevators.

These buildings are in five areas, each themed around a different movie. (See the first page of this review for a resort map.)

  • Buildings 5 and 8, Fantasia,  grouped around the main Fantasia Pool, and very close to Cinema Hall
  • Buildings 1  and 4, 101 Dalmatians, close to Cinema Hall
  • Buildings 2 and 3, Mighty Ducks, grouped around a second pool, the Duck Pond, and far from Cinema Hall–but very close to the food court at the next-door All-Star Music Resort
  • Buildings 9 and 10, Toy Story, close to Cinema Hall
  • Buildings 6 and 7, Love Bug, as distant from Cinema Hall as the Mighty Ducks.

All-Star Movies (and the other values) are often dinged for being “too large and spread-out.”

This is an inaccurate criticism, as each of the values fits into a much smaller footprint than any of the three larger moderates, leading to much less walking than at the moderates.

Like the other values, All-Star Movies has no sit-down restaurant. In Cinema Hall you will find a somewhat small food court and gift shops. Compared to the other two All-Stars, Cinema Hall has more room to move around in.

Among All-Stars, Movie’s strengths for first time visitors is a slightly higher degree of kid appeal from its theming (though still not as good as at Pop Century), which will work great for kids interested in the movies it highlights.

Its negatives compared to the other values include sometimes inconvenient transportation.

See this for more on distinctions among the values.

We used a Pack n Play crib at both Pop Century and All-Star Movies. It was fine. We placed it next to the window. Thanks :)

Wow, what a blog! After all, you simply have so much courage to go forward and tell it like it is. Youre what writing a blog must have, an open minded super hero who isn’t scared to tell it like it is. This really is absolutely something people need to be up on. Best of luck down the road, dude.
